ZAAP news
BEIJING -- (MARKETWIRE) -- 06/19/07 -- Electric transportation pioneer ZAP (OTCBB: ZAAP) will showcase its complete line of electric vehicles at CIEPEC, the tenth annual China International Environmental Protection Exhibition, June 21-24 at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.
CEIPEC 2007 is a trade fair for environmentally friendly products from around the world. The conference is organized by CAEPI (China Association of Environmental Protection Industry) to raise awareness about green technologies for introduction to consumers in China.
ZAP will be showcasing its line of electric vehicles, all of which are made in China. These include electric scooters, ATVs, cars and trucks, which are all exported to the USA and other countries in the Americas. ZAP Chairman Gary Starr says electric transportation is vital for the health and well being of the Chinese economy and the world.
"The market for gas-powered vehicles is exploding in China," says Starr. "This will not be good for China's air quality, but will also have an adverse effect on world oil supplies. Now is the time for China to make the move to electric vehicles."
Starr noted that China is the world's second largest market for cars and commercial vehicles combined, second only to the USA. Its car population grew from about four million in 2000 to 20 million in 2006. While pressure is mounting on China to curb its CO2 emissions, passenger car sales will probably maintain at a growth rate of not less than 25 percent per year.
While China has experienced spectacular economic growth, it has also brought air pollution levels that are blamed for a variety of illnesses and premature death. Starr cited statistics supporting the use of electric vehicles in China. Electric vehicles can eliminate 90 percent of pollutants related to automobiles, even after counting the emissions from electric power plants. An electric car in place of a gas car can prevent 10,000 pounds of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere. Vehicles are a leading source for air pollution and one of the largest consumers of oil in China. Recent satellite data has revealed that Beijing is the air pollution capital of the world. According to European satellite data, pollution in the sky over China has increased by 50 percent over the past decade. China is now the world's second largest producer of greenhouse gases and the World Bank has warned that China is home to 16 of the world's 20 most polluted cities.
Starr will be joined by Mr. Yong Jiang, representing Shandong Jindalu, manufacturer of the XEBRA electric sedan and truck for ZAP. Last year the two companies signed a strategic partnership agreement to fight global warming through the manufacturing and marketing of electric vehicles in addition to planting one million trees worldwide by 2010. "We are here to welcome distributors, technology partners and potential employees to join us in making electric vehicles a mainstream in China," said Starr.

I promote scooter rental shops on South Beach and noticed how disposable they are because of parts, lack of that is...
Hey Pee Wee, nice board, but I got a big scooter...
LOL!! I heard that one before.....still funny though......but with that said........SCOOTERS are not what they used to be..........CHICS DIG EM!!!!!!!!
After my New Variator install yesterday I went for a ride after filling up the tank......a whole $3.36!
I rode it all over town all day long..............
Current MPG--------104MPG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best the scooter has ever gotten! More power and better mileage!!
Done doing upgrades to it now......she is dialed in................
Ya know what fat chicks and scooters have in common?
They're both fun to ride, you just don't want your friends to catch you on one.....
Thanks for that information cosmo..I took a peak at the tech specs on both bikes and some room for improvement..........
TOP SPEED.... 30 MPH
RANGE BEFORE RECHARGING the Scooter..... 30 Miles......
The Scooter range is the killer....not practical for most uses IMO...I did read that they are looking to develop a light quicker model as well as one for highway use......that would be the bomb.....if they can increase the Range before recharge....and if you can get the speed up to at least 45mph.......these will sell like hot cakes....I do like the noise my scoot produces though..lets folks know that I am there.......I will add this company to the IBOX later today or tonight......are there any more scooter companies that are publicly held besides the one you just posted?
Anyone know of any Publicly Held SCOOTER companies? if Gas Prices keep going up I would Imagine that might not be a bad company to invest in right now.......
Not sure if this board will be of interest on IHUB but thought I would throw it up anyway...........Looking for assistant mods with scooter knowledge..techy advice etc.......
I just got done upgrading my scooter........it will do 53 MPH on FLAT road.......and has plenty of torq on the hills now......it was a 50cc Kymco zx 50.........now it is a 70cc with the following upgrades
Malossi 70cc cylinder kit
Malossi variator kit...
Tecnigas Exhaust
I have more power now than I have ever had and I just got 93MPG before the Variator change........we will see how the variator changes the fuel mileage.........i thought for sure my mileage would decrease with the 70cc kit........but it went UP!!!!
This scoot zips through traffic like nobodys business........It was and is a BLAST to ride and now I am passing cars instead of getting passed.......I ride it every day now........when I am not tinkering with it that is.........have fun everyone.....anymore scooterist out there?
