I've read a similar NR that says they have shut down their Big Branch Op and several other coal operations for lack of funds and low demand for coal.

Griffis and Hand have run over to RNX to mine nickel and who knows what. I'm still holding for lack of choice.

Royal Coal Corp is dead. I supsect a de-listing in Canada soon.
As for the money, I suspect they mined the pockets of investors. They did not mine coal since Q3 2011.

I still don't know why everyone panicked and sold out. The Feb 22nd NR said nothing about giving up and going into default other than the possibility of a default. The main thing I noted from it was that they would do everything possible to avoid it.
