$ORBC ORBCOMM..Truck Tracking & Logistics: A Look Back at TCA 2015

The 77th Annual Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Annual Convention was a star-studded event. I am not talking about the appearance by NFL Quarterback Peyton Manning or even actor/singer/song-writer Rick Springfield. This year’s event was attended by many of the heavyweights in the transportation business.

For ORBCOMM, the annual convention was once again an opportunity to get caught up on the issues being faced by the industry and strengthen relationships with customers and partners.

In conversation with TMW Systems, we are seeing a strong interest of ORBCOMM’s transportation management system (TMS) from customers who use TruckMate® dispatch software application. The integration provides trucking companies with the ability to capture data like trailer temperature, mileage, fuel levels, and GPS position through their dispatch application and gain significant operational savings, optimize temperature compliance and prevent unauthorized use.

Similarly, users of LoadMaster from McLeod Software can use the integration with ORBCOMM’s ReeferTrak to track the temperature of refrigerated trailers, monitor fuel levels, receive trailer sensor alerts and poll the location of the refrigerated unit. All this allows dispatchers to quickly manage loads by exception, decrease risk of delivery of damaged goods, and increase customer satisfaction and revenue.

The show was also an opportunity to connect with many customers. Brad Pinchuk, President at Hirschbach Motor Lines was recounting how he decided to purchase our system. Looking for a simple way to calculate ROI, he looked at how many trailers he would be able to remove from his pool of trailers and compared it with the total cost of the system. That one simple calculation was enough for him to decide to equip his entire fleet with an ORBCOMM tracking system. The added savings from reduced fuel consumption, insurance premiums and maintenance costs were a bonus.

You are right this could get good, l didn't sell all my shares
Made some $$ though and buying more. I found ORBCOMM through another stock I've owned, Coda Octopus Group (CDOC) make the test set for the OG2 Satellite Network.

CDOC Has been in the dumps lately due to a legal issue with some investors that participated in a PP a while back.

I did ... I sold half my position at 6.3 and then the other half at 6.49. I bought back in at 6.05 and then again at 5.92 for same amount of shares I originally had .... I'm thinking ER guidance could be really good w/ new sats operational, they could acquire a Company w/ their new recent cash, and the next round of satellite launches should be announced shortly. A lot coming up
