Joe 1988, How do you know that "Now there isn't only competition there is something way better" Amazon bought the company that makes this new interface back in Feb. 2010. They have planned for this for a while. It is proprietary, so that other companies can't use it or even copy it. It is unclear how the market will respond to it or if it is stable in cold weather. The e-reader market is growing in other countries where Amazon is not so dominant.

From my standpoint, the money is in other markets...specifically cell phones. Neon has the potential to upgrade the low end or feature phones to touch phones for about the same cost. ~1 billion of these phones were sold last year. Neon mentioned Nokia and Motorola in the last cc. In addition, there is a growing demand to use smart phones as e-readers. The problem, however, is that smart phones have too short of battery life for this purpose. Neon offers a solution by using it's technology to allow smart phones to convert to ir touch for the e-reader function. This would then require minimal battery consumption. Apple is moving in this direction, but has it's own proprietary means to accomplish this. There were over 600 million smart phones sold last year.

IMO, just sit back and wait for another 1-2 quarters and I believe that we will have announcements in this market. GLTA

I'm not saying it isn't gona go up from here. But personally I had a lot of hope for neonode as a company. I think people running it really know what they're doing. But in the over 2 and a half years I have been invested in neon this is the first real piece of bad news to come out (I am referring to them losing the kindle). Before now neonode was the only option for touch screens in ereaders. There was zero competition. Now there isn't only competition there is something way better. Its just a matter of time b4 all ereaders start adopting this newer tech and ditching neonode.

Now ereaders aren't the only thing that require a touch screen so as I said if they can start signing big deals to get in car dash boards then they are still a great investment in the long term. But we haven't seen much from that yet. We will see.

I have lost most of my hope for neonode. The fact that they lost kindle as a customer is awful.

What amazon did with this latest kindle is obviously where ereaders are headed. Neonode temporarily held the spot for touchscreens in ereaders while the rest of the touch tech world caught up and now surpassed neonode as far as ereaders go.

In my opinion with this new kindle tech, neonode is completely useless for ereaders.

If they announce that they are having major succsess in other industries (maybe car dash boards) then maybe they will have a bright future, but I see them losing most of their major ereader customers to better tech as seen in the new kindles.

I just put some new money in there, starter position just
at the bell. I got alerted by insider buy screen. How often
do CEOs and Chief Finance Officers both buy stock in their
own company on the same day, the day before presentations
are going to be made? Wish I had caught the dip to 3.19,
but the MM dipped a penny to fill my order before the bell.

It has been awfully quiet in regards to NEON>..

We can only hope that Neonode has plans to pursue licensing or go after those companies that have infringed on their swipe to unlock patent.

Hopefully,,, the design wins from the last couple quarters will produce some news in the near future. Any positive news and we could have a nice short squeeze,,,,Last time I checked,,we had over 3 million shares short.

No news, but the Judge in England struck down 3 of 4 Apple patents in a lawsuit against HTC. One of them being slide to unlock. Judge "invalidated" Apple's patent as Neonode's patent and prior art.

That's now 2 judges, one in Dutch court, citing Apple's slide to unlock "invalid".

Obviously, the news is not lost on traders/investors.

My personal belief is that it will not replace capacitive in the high end world, but it will replace resistive touch (same price and much better performance). The cost of NEON is so MUCH lower than capacitive (10:1) and lower power consumption I can see that developing nations will start providing tablet like computers to 10's of millions of kids with the books and instructions preloaded as both cheap textbooks and teacher guides. This is not even considering any of the Samsung/Apple/Google deals that are currently in the news. This will hit big, if not this year then next for sure! regardless of the DOW/NASDAQ because of diversification.

Additionally, when companies work with many other company R&D teams which is what NEON is doing they gain incredible insights on what the technology can do, pushes the limitations beyond current designs and if they are smart (this seems to be the case) they will own any new IP directly related to their zForce portfolio, it makes them so much stronger then working in a vacuum.

Young companies can be vulnerable to lawsuits on IP (infringement) but with their legacy (N2) that does not seem to be a threat.

NEON IS THE PERFECT STOCK. I spent another day mulling over all of the pros and cons of putting so much of my hard earned cash into this stock. I can honestly say i cant find any cons. That is probably one of the first times in my life i can say that about a stock i have owned...Licensing company, at the forefront of technology for a HUGE and MASSIVELY growing industry. Touch screens have only been recently touching the surface of all of the places they will go...ZFORCE is the BEST technology on the market.. MASSIVE revenue growth and excellent management that has it all figured out. All of the MAJOR TIER ONE COMPANIES that will be paying NEON over the coming months is staggering.This is going to be one of the great stock market stories of 2012-2013...amazing more people arent aware of it...although James A. did one hell of a job trying to get the word out. Lastly they could be a takeout candidate for apple, google or samsung, and they could be in a bidding war for the rights to own NEON ..and the rights not to be on the short side of patent lawsuits..I rarely get sucked into believing crap i read online..but jame's article is the real deal..I beleive to my core this is a 30 dollar stock if not MUCH MUCH more.. i cant wait for more press releases of more wins from this company..single digits are going to go bye bye real soon..NEVER to be seen again.

Shorted at 5.80 ? That is not something i would tell someone to do. 5.81 last after hours trade by the way..and you are only up pennies..shorting is a dangerous game...the floor for this stock is likely around 5 bucks now at worst.....the upside is virtually limitless..especially if something patent related does by chance break..just imagine shorting this and waking up and its 18 dollars a share....not impossible..which is why shorting a name like this (especially overnight) could prove suicidal.
