BTW, I've been watching on Netflix
https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/life-on-our-planet-release-date-news-trailer#:~:text=Who%20is%20the%20Life%20on,says%20series%20producer%20Dan%20Tapster.
I find this stuff extremely interesting. Although, for the life of me (ironically speaking), evolution makes no sense to me.
Spoiler alert.....we all come from goo basically.
The third season already??!!!!
Are you sure the spousal_unit and I will like this? The spousal doesn't have much patience for Sci-fi, but we are desperately looking for something new to watch right now, and I do love me some Rosario Dawson.
Are you saying the show is now complete?
a unique computer-animated fright show (23m)
Not suitable for Susie924, for if watched she will never again eat a crustacean.
But if derfie watched this show he will say the ending was rightest and joyful.
ddf will buy an extreme large live crustacean, and while still alive, cook it with the scorching fire of Hell.
Meghan will hide in The Jailhouse.

gotmilk.....I gave up, many years ago, trying to use logic and common sense here. You are absolutely right that I shouldn't waste my time on the middle school board, but I was hoping to keep a stock pump and dumper busy there. Truth be told, he is far from the worst of the posters around here.
Long ago I realized this place was a waste of time, and I've taken absences of 2 to 3 years at a time of leaving here.
It keeps me busy as I watch the market, as I haven't been trading nearly as much as I used to.
I appreciate your post as your point is well made, but it is in my nature to try to help the little guy not get screwed over by the slightly bigger guy.
As to the Squid Game reality show....maybe give it at least 1 full episode before dismissing it, I thought it got better as it progressed and the ending was surprising.
Well, That explains it.
Why you watch TV shows like Survivor and Big Brother, and post on the Middle School Playground.
You confront others with your superior intelligent.
Enjoyed the first Squid Games, but after ten minutes on the current one, I exited it.
My interest in solving puzzles and watching folks trying to manipulate others, is zero.
I suggest that you change your tactics to identify penny stock scams from doing battle
with those miscreants and post facts on the board (to yourself) to counter their garbage.
just saying
Don't know if anyone around here watched Squid Games.
I thought it was incredibly unique and worth the watch until the last episode. Sadly, I wasn't thrilled with the ending though.
Anyway, IF you watched it, on Netflix now is Squid Games the reality series and it is so well done that it almost feels like the original.
Watch the first, then watch the series. Good television.
Don't know if I'm allowed to give TV pickles, but I'd say it's a 3.5 on the 4 point pickle meter.
The spousal_unit and I are finally getting around to watching Suits.
I've heard so many good things about it. While much of the courtroom scenes and legal decisions are silly, the show is entertaining.
I do like being able to watch the entire series in a short period of time.
I also like seeing the future Princess making out and showing some skin. Actually, I guess she's only a Duchess, but she's married to a Prince of a guy.
Something about Princess Brides I find appealing.
LOL.....this review makes me want to watch this movie again.
I guess it’s a little bit drastic. LOL
I used to only use the closed caption for British shows or movies but now I use it most of the time.
I won’t use it if there is a lag in what is being said and what is on the screen.
Wow! That's quite a statement!
Since Covid movie theaters around here have closed. We had 2 big ones and 1 small one. I loved going to the small one because it was like a private screening. Never were there more than 20 people in the theater and many times under 10. I was surprised it lasted as long as it did.
The only one now open is at the mall and I HATE going to the mall.
I have gotten so used to watching movies at home and if I miss hearing what someone says, I can always rewind and listen again.
I doubt I will go to a theater again.
Are movie theaters dying? Ticket prices have risen drastically lately (at least at the theater I go to). Did Covid just kill an industry that people determined they really didn't need?
Airline travel has rebounded, why not movie watching?
So we watched The Whale last night. I'd be hard pressed to say it was a good movie. Sure, Brendan Frasier did a great job of acting and what he did to his body, but it was hardly a movie I'd typically want to watch on purpose.
Terrible ending as well.
Sadly, it seems so rare lately for me to see a movie and say I thoroughly loved it. I don't even understand the concept on a movie like "Everything, Everywhere, all at once"
What has Hollywood (or wherever they're making them these days) done to my cinema experience.
Giving The Whale 2 pickles.
I love playoff games! Good luck!
I need to watch that and just set it to record.
I know you'll be happy to hear I just bought my playoff tickets yesterday (if they don't manage to choke it all away).
Ridiculous prices and I have to pay it all up front. If they don't make it and I want my money back, I have a deadline and they have the right to sit on my money for 60 days before giving it back to me.
Often times I just root for them to be not quite good enough to make the playoffs. They absolutely blew their worst game of the year last night.
I finally saw The Whale. I knew that Brendon Fraser put on weight for the movie but I had the feeling that it was about a high roller.
Boy was I wrong!!!
It was dark and depressing but I thought it was well done.
Fraser definitely deserved the Oscar.
3.5/4
Did she spend the appropriate amount?
Was going to the game a few months back and Taylor was playing next door at Jerry World. I couldn't believe how every young girl was all dressed up to look like her. Never seen a concert before where you get dressed up to go. (Unless Rocky Horror counts).
Crazy
My granddaughter was at Taylor’s concert last weekend.
ummmm meh.....it was ok, but not really my cup of tea. Although I loved Victor Victoria and should have it on my list.
No Bird Cage?
Funniest movie I ever saw
yeah Hangover and Farris
I'd have to give that some serious thought, but no Young Frankenstein??
Thought Christmas Vacation was the worst of the series and would definitely put Euro Vacation above it. Speaking of which, EuroTrip is funnier than all the Vacation movies.
Son_Derf rates Holy Grail as number 1.
I'd probably consider
Kung Pow (Enter the fist)
Eurotrip
Fired Up
Does Forrest Gump count?
There's Something About Mary
Hangover
Ferris Bueller
Princess Bride
Tropic Thunder
Airplane
Not in any order
Airplane
The Jerk
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Caddyshack
Vacation
Vegas Vacation
Christmas Vacation
Tommy Boy
Dumb and Dumber
Best Comedy ever ? Top 5 for sure

sounds like he has lots of losing streaks in sports betting lol
I can introduce you to people who claim all sporting events are rigged....except his college alma mater of course.
at least in golf you don't know how it's going to finish
never mind.. Derf said what I said..
If you liked Dances with Wolves then you'll like Avatar.. Same stuff
I forgot I saw No Hard Feelings this weekend.
Spousal thought it was hilarious. Unfortunately I watched the trailer, which pretty much showed all the highlights.
A fair amount of Jennifer Lawrence nekkid so that was a plus.
Pretty much a re-do of Failure to Launch.
I'd give it 2.4 pickles I guess.
Interesting. It has been said that the first was just a remake of Dancing with Wolves.
I think sci-fy movies have just taken over the box office. Son_Derf swears by the Spiderman Universe now and I did see the last couple. Even though they are cartoons and the graphics can be limitless, they are better than the ones with Tobey McGuire and others.
These movies have become like comic books. They can go in any direction they want and go on forever.
Same on TV with The Walking Dead.
I have seen the first Avatar, it just didn't do anything for me. But it was better than the Wes Anderson movie I just saw.
We’ve had some rainy weather here lately so I decided it was time to see Avatar, the way of Water.
I toyed with the idea of watching the original Avatar first but the thought of almost 6 hours of movie watching did not appeal to me.
In the end I did watch the first Avatar and a few days later I watched the second one. It was a good idea because even with watching the first one I was a bit confused (in the beginning) as to who everyone was in the second one.
I never really thought I would like either of them but I was pleasantly surprised. The visual effects were unbelievable and it kept my attention throughout. I am one of those people that tends to doze off during movies.
My biggest complaint with both movies is that they were too darn long!!
I liked the first one a bit more than the second one.
Avatar 3.2/4
Avatar, The Way of Water 2.95/4
I just got back from seeing Asteroid City. I don't get it. I know Wes Anderson likes to do some "different stuff", but this movie got an A in the newspaper and Rotten Tomatoes critics gave it 76%, but I don't get it. I only wish the spousal_unit was there with me to tell me what a waste of time that was.
I'd like to give it a pickle, but I might not be able to sleep at nights thinking someone thinks they should see it based on my rave reviews.
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/asteroid_city/reviews?intcmp=rt-what-to-know_read-critics-reviews
Here! Read these critics reviews for yourself. Even the ones who claim to have liked it seemed to really not.
I guess my summary would be, "if you like Wes Anderson movies, well this is a movie".
I should have waited for the dollar theater to get it.
There are couple that I never heard of
My top 5, in no particular order would be
ET
The Karate Kid
Top Gun
Ferris Buehlers Day Off
When Harry Met Sally
I’ve seen all of them but I’ll admit there are at least a handful that I hadn’t seen prior to the last 10 years.
Easier to name the ones I haven't.
Don't think I've seen Heathers
Probably not A Nightmare on Elm Street and Lost Boys in it's entirety.
Top 5 would be:
Ferris Bueller
The Princess Bride
Risky Business
Back to the Future
Terminator
Not necessarily in that order and several tied for 6th
I did this one almost 4 years ago...
Uncut Gems
I wasn’t sure if I would like this but I had read that Adam Sandler was very good.
He was and he definitely should have gotten an Oscar nom. Adam Sandler like you’ve never seen him before.
3.8/5
So, if you liked The Fabelman's, watch 5-25-77. It's the poor man's version. A true story of Patrick Reed Johnson.
For you maybe. I was working in the coal mines by then, after they ran out of canaries.
That’s a good age! Playing, coloring, and after school snacks? Sounds like a good life to me!
In my head I'm only 6 1/2.
I don’t think I realized he was 74. In my head, he was only in his 50s.
It's typically tough to pick a side. Good for those who can view something from both perspectives.

A board to review, talk about, recommend your favorite movies, tv shows - reality and otherwise, actors, music, books, food, anything you feel like chatting about.
We like to use the pickle system around here, but feel free to rate as you see fit.
If you like the system, it goes as such
0 - 1....you would probably want to recommend to derf
1.01 - 2....better wait for HBO
2.01 - 3....worth a rental, maybe even a trip to the picture show
3.01 - 3.99....pretty much a must see, either in the theater or DVD.
4....WOW
