Egypt ETF up 4% on Mubarak speculation

BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- The Market Vectors Egypt Index ETF was up nearly 4% in
midday U.S. trading Thursday. Egypt's president, Hosni Mubarak, may step down
Thursday evening, according to reports.

Egypt ETF up 5%; Van Eck halts creation orders

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Asset manager Van Eck Global will suspend creation
orders of Market Vectors Egypt Index ETF due to the closure of the Egyptian Stock
Exchange on the back of political unrest in the African country, the company said
Monday. "This follows the firm's normal policy of suspending creation orders when
the underlying market is closed for an extended period thereby helping to prevent
the costs of creation activity to be borne by existing shareholders," said Van
Eck in a statement. The fund plans to resume normal operations when the bourse
reopens. The index ETF, which was halted earlier Monday, is up 4.8% to $16.99
after trading resumed.

Did EGPT get halted?

I shorted some at 8:26 am but now I'm not showing a bid or ask with TD and don't see any shares traded other than the 12,500 that went across premarket. Interactive brokers is showing a spread of 16.21/16.4 but no volume other than the 12,500 that traded premarket

Speculation play -- TA doesn't quite apply yet since the world is raging on this area. I am waiting for a bottom and a bounce on LOW volume. Please denote the historical volume for this ETF BEFORE doing anything. Nonetheless I will be looking at L2 while Egypt settles.
