In MRV OCS’ continued commitment to providing high-quality service management solutions, Zeev Draer, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, will offer his insight and expertise on maintaining flexible service awareness and rigid SLAs for the advanced delivery of Carrier Ethernet services and applications.




On Tuesday, February 7, Draer will present an 11:05 am CET session titled “Service OAM Management and OAM for Ethernet Services.” In this session, attendees will learn modern methods to achieving efficient scalability and service automation management for Carrier Ethernet networks. On Thursday, February 9 at 5:30 pm CET, Draer will also participate in a round table discussion titled “MPLS End-to-End: A Realistic Paradigm?”

“Carrier Ethernet services are one of the fastest growing market segments in the industry today. As a result, service providers will require a robust set of management tools to maintain these expanding networks,” said Draer. “The MPLS & Ethernet World Congress allows MRV OCS to continue to share our insight on Carrier Ethernet services, especially in regards to OAM, an important but constantly changing service and the protocols that need to evolve with it.”

The event will feature more than 150 service providers from over 70 countries in a conference, workshop and exhibition setting allowing attendees to learn all that is involved in the convergence of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Ethernet protocols, especially in regards to their own specific networks. While the conference will focus on cloud computing services and end-to end, mobile backhaul Long Term Evolution (LTE) and MPLS Transport File (MPLS-TP) issues, the event’s workshop will focus on technological and implementation-detailed issues in accordance with the MPLS tutorial stated by the Broadband Forum. MRV OCS will also participate in the conference as an exhibitor, showcasing their latest technologies throughout the event at booth #205.

In addition to the conference, workshops and exhibition, the nearly 1,300 attendees are invited to join the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the Interop Platform, where a multi-vendor MPLS & Carrier Ethernet interoperability test from January 2012 will be demonstrated. The tests will focus on IPv6 Migration scenarios, advancements in MPLS-TP fault detection and many others.

So I hope they get shot down quickly. The three groups above surely know, virtually nothing from a penny is worthless to them and extrememly detrimental to their investment. I agree with you on that.

I hope MRV's lawyers squash this quickly at at little cost to them.

hear, hear! I agree with you on all counts, but am still cautious. I looked at the EPS, financials, and if they paid any dividend to all the shares held, it would royally screw the company. There are MANY institutional holders of MRVC, and MANY hold more shares than these people. Don't believe these people would settle for a penny dividend, greedy, greedy. I still am keeping my fingers crossed that it wasn't put out there for pump and dump. Not a peep was heard when the other institution they were referring to had asked if possible to have special dividend.

Here's a positive ... MRVC has not significantly altered their outstanding shares since 2006.

Another positive is how they've trended towards making a few pennies per share.

The absolute joke of asking for a dividend is no company gives a dividend of virtually nothing from nothing.

Do they really want a seat on the board of directors?

It seems to me that owning 3% +/- of a company's outstanding shares is significant, but no where near worthy of a board seat. It's also probable that they have no qualification to be on the BofD except they have a lot of stock.

However, countless companies have institutional investors with larger share percentages than these people, and they aren't on the BofD, nor are they hostile.

So, these people are going to be hostile to get something they have not asked for in the PR.

A) a payoff to be quiet.
B) a buyout to go away.

I hope management pisses in the wind in their general direction. All these people can do is hurt all of the other shareholders.

But the squeaky wheel often gets some consideration.

Not sure if I'd call that a decent PR, and it was put out by the Singer Children Management Trust trying to strongarm MRVC. So they had 6 million shares bequested to them, big deal. If they don't get a special dividend, they want representation on the board. They could get neither. Might we call this only a stock pump so that they could get more per share when they dump the 6 mill?
