a district-scale land package adjacent to the giant high-grade Obuasi mine.
The agreement provides both exploration funding and access to a technical team with over 125 years of expertise
on the extremely prolific Ashanti gold belt, including significant experience at the Obuasi mine itself,”
Ingrid Hibbard, CEO of Pelangio Exploration, said in a statement. “Secondly, our Manfo drill program
extended known mineralization at the southern ends of both the Pokukrom East and West deposits.”

The Obuasi project

Pelangio Exploration owns 100 per cent interest in the Obuasi project, which spans 284 square kilometres and is adjacent to TuNya’s property, which is host to the Kyereboso deposit. The project is also next to and on strike with AngloGold-Ashanti’s 30 million-ounce Obuasi mine.

Between 2007 and 2011, Pelangio Exploration conducted work on the project, including two airborne VTEM/magnetic surveys, geological and geochemical surveys and trenching, as well as diamond drilling.

In total, the company has drilled 129 diamond drill holes for a total of 27,883 metres ranging in length up to 602 metres and averaging approximately 200 metres. Broadly speaking, drilling has lightly tested targets in eight general areas, with more than 85 per cent of the drilling in the western half of the property.

The early exploration activity plus subsequent and more recent data reanalysis, prospectivity and targeting exercises prioritized two large principal target areas for follow-up exploration situated in the southwestern corner of the property closest to the Obuasi Mine property.

Moving forward, additional work on the Obuasi project will continue the desktop target development and ranking exercise, augmented by fieldwork to include a comprehensive review of the drill core, detailed field mapping and a structural study.

TuNya’s “Obuasi experts” will conduct the work, while Pelangio Exploration recently entered into a letter of intent where TuNya has the option to earn into an 80 per cent interest on the southern portion of the Obuasi project covering principally Tarkwaian geology.



The deal
As Pelangio Exploration gears up to unlock the potential of the Obuasi project and beyond, the company is also eager to provide investors with the same opportunities through a non-brokered private placement valued at C$500,000.

Under the offering, the company is issuing each unit at a price of $0.03 and will consist of one common share of Pelangio Exploration and one common share purchase warrant.

Each whole warrant offers the holder the opportunity to purchase one common share at a price of $0.05 for a period of five years from the initial closing date of the offering.

Pelangio Exploration will use the funds for working capital and general corporate costs, which include land maintenance costs.

The initial offering is expected to close around Sept. 25 but could occur in one more tranches.

The Obuasi Project will benefit from an agreement with TuNya Mineral Resources to provide exploration expenditures and access to technical expertise
TuNya will be earning into the TuNya Earn-In Property (the southern portions of the Kyereboso 2 and 3 licenses of Pelangio’s Obuasi Property, covering principally Tarkwaian geology), to explore for extensions to or additional discoveries complementary to TuNya’s Kyereboso project
The recently completed Manfo drill program extended mineralization in the Pokukrom East and West deposits, demonstrating resource growth potential with continued step-out drilling

As of February 22nd, 2023, a total of 1,707 dry metric tonnes of gold concentrate have been
produced with an average gold grade of 35.12 g/t Au (1,928 troy ounces).

A fast Production Gold Au Estimate DD by a Monument Mining Investor: -

Scoping of concentrate Production…52,000 ounces

We have some very interesting tidbit provided in todays NR which can be combined with
FS information to scope out annual concentrate production

...950,000 tons of mill feed per year ( about 3000 tpd )

....Mass pull of 5% ( ie 100 tons of ore is concentrated by a factor of 20 to 5 tons of
concentrate )

..head .grade of 1.95 gms per ton ( oxides removed )

....recovery of 85%

So , we have 1.95 gms/ ton. X 20 X 85 % = 35 gms per ton which is spot on the
performance reported today.

950,000 tons of head feed is concentrated by a factor of 20 ( ie Mass pull of 5% ) to 47000
tons of concentrate containing 1.1 ounces of gold per ton .

This computes to about 52,000 ounces of gold per year contained within 47000 tons of gold
concentrate

The Feasability Study included Biox and also oxides .

It quoted 60.000 ounces per year in the initial years of production .

So, removing the oxides from the mill feed and 53,000 ounces of sulphide gold produced
per year seems quite good and meets breast plate production rates.

Reducing production by about 10 % for smelting and transportation costs and our net gold
sales will be about 48,000 ounces per year which at current POG of $2259 CAD per ounce
will result in about $105 million CAD in annual revenues.


The FSR analyst report calculated a 30% cash flow margin which is just over $30 million
CAD per year.

As we have nearly $45 million US in forward non capital tax loss pools to offset income
taxes, that amount ($30 m CAD ) is essentially free cash flows.

There will be need for sustaining capital , so remove $5 million for that and we have about
$25 million or about $0.08 per share in free cash flows or equivalently in the absence of
taxes, net earnings

This gets us to about book value of $0.48 per share at a very modest 6 times annual
earnings

So todays NR provided an excellent insight into our FP production outlook .
As importantly , it confirms and conforms quite well with the 2019 Feasability Study which is
quite reassuring.

Considering that we have over $75 million in asset value in our Murchison
Project, Monument is now a screaming buy.

Welcome ; Can we produce/ sell 10,000 ounces in Q3
Q3 is this quarter ending March 31/23.
We have 30 days in March to do so .

Head feed is 3000 tons per day, so if all goes well, we should
produce 90,000 tons of ore in March.

With a mass pull of 5%, that will result in about 4500 tons of
concentrate , containing 1.1 ounces per ton which is
about 5000 ounces of gold.

We have already produced 1829 ounces to date during ramp it ,
up to a week or so ago.

Now, we have ....recalling from memory ..about 3000+ ounces of
bullion in Inventory that was saved from Q2 and
Q3 production in F22..

So, with breast plate production of about 5000 ounces for
March....if no more significant hiccups.. and
nearly 2000 ounces in the bag already ,
along with over 3000 ounces of bullion in our vaults,
we could see up to 10,000 ounces sold in Q3...?..if
all going good -

About $23 million in gross sales .

The FSR projected 22,000 ounces in F 2023.

That looks reasonably certain right now....if ramp up proceeds
without any major hiccups.

announced today that it produced a total of 16,370 ounces of gold in June 2022 at its Segovia Operations bringing the total for the second quarter of 2022 to 53,198 ounces compared with 52,198 ounces from Segovia in the second quarter of 2021. In the second quarter of 2022, the Company also produced 85,741 ounces of silver, up from 54,573 ounces of silver in the second quarter last year, together with approximately 294,000 pounds of zinc and 345,000 pounds of lead.

For the first half of 2022, the Company produced 103,149 ounces of gold at its Segovia Operations, up from 101,256 ounces of gold in the first half last year. The Company reported consolidated gold production in the first half last year of 103,684 ounces which included 2,428 ounces from Marmato up to February 4, 2021, the date of the loss of control of Aris Gold Corporation.

GCM Mining’s trailing 12-months’ total gold production at the end of June 2022 was 208,282 ounces, up about 1% over last year. The Company remains on track to meet its 2022 annual production guidance of 210,000 to 225,000 ounces of gold, aided by the completion of the Maria Dama plant expansion to 2,000 tonnes per day (“tpd”) in the third quarter of 2022.

GCM Mining processed a total of 44,047 tonnes in June 2022 at its Maria Dama plant, representing a daily average processing rate of 1,468 tpd, at an average head grade of 12.8 g/t. Plant operations in June 2022 reflected a scheduled 120-hour stoppage to change the linings of the mill in addition to routine repairs and improvements. For the second quarter of 2022, a total of 147,580 tonnes, equivalent to 1,622 tpd, were processed at Segovia at an average head grade of 12.4 g/t compared with a total of 143,910 tonnes, equivalent to 1,581 tpd, at an average head grade of 12.6 g/t in the second quarter last year. This brings the daily average processing rate for the first half of 2022 to 1,604 tpd at an average head grade of 12.3 g/t compared with 1,526 tpd and 12.7 g/t in the first half last year.

We Homeys Did It
At this point, static interrupts the conversation. Then the two voices become clear

yiddisher kops added more wealth to the world than Carnegie, Ford, Buffett,
Gates… all of them put together.

Ben: Well, the system and how it works.
Janet: Hey… That’s not allowed…
Ben: I know… but now that I’m a private citizen just shaking down the big banks for speaking fees… It’s payback time!

Ben: Janet, just wait… you’ll get your turn…But seriously, I’m just wondering how it all fits together.
I mean… it seems like something very important has changed in a way that we
didn’t recognize.
Janet: What’s that?”
Ben: When Nixon made that change in 1971 [eliminating the restraint on credit
creation imposed by gold] nobody really knew what it meant. The gold bugs ranted and raved, but even they had no idea what would happen. Nobody really saw how it would change the system completely.Nobody… except maybe the damned French… ever asked to exchange their dollars for gold anyway. It didn’t seem to matter that we shut the window [ending the convertibility of dollars to gold at a fixed rate by closing the “gold window” at the Treasury].
But this is just coming into focus for me. It changes everything. We went from a savings-based money system to a credit-based system. And that’s a big change.
You following me? There is only so much money available from savings. So that naturally limits the amount of credit. But when you can create credit with just a few keystrokes on your computer… it’s a different thing entirely. You can have as much as you want.
But the guy who runs a liquor store… He stocks his shelves for total sales. He doesn’t care whether you spend cash or credit. As people spend more – on credit – he orders more bottles and hires a young man to put it on the shelves. He thinks there is more demand for his product. He expects it to last. So does everyone else.
So, the economy booms. That was the idea. That’s why we got our faces on TIME. We homeys did it. We manipulated the economy. We tricked people into thinking there was more demand than there really was. And all we had to do was keep interest rates a little on the low side…
Debt Is Deflationary
Again… the line gets fuzzy for a bit. Then the voices come back.
Janet: Ben… I’m going to hop off the line… I’ve got an FOMC meeting…
Ben: Hold on, Janet… Just a minute… I’ve got something figured out. It’s important…In the old system, people had to earn money before they could lend it. That imposed a natural limit on credit. You couldn’t lend it if you didn’t have it.
The scarcity of credit forced up the price of it. Interest rates never went to zero. So, savers were encouraged to save. And it forced investors and entrepreneurs to find projects that were worthy of precious capital. That’s what made the system work. It encouraged real capital formation and real wealth building. That’s how we got richer.
Now, all we’ve got is credit… unlimited credit. Banks’ cost of funds these days is so low it’s almost free. Nobody knows what anything is worth – because all prices are distorted by unlimited credit.
That’s what happened to the oil industry. Oil was $140, and then it was $30. You don’t know what it should be. So nobody wants to take the risk or trouble to fund long-term projects. We don’t build much real wealth any more. We just speculate. Short term. And the amount of credit in the system just goes up and up.
But the dark side of credit is debt. You have to pay interest on it… and eventually pay back the loan. So, as your debt increases, it takes more and more of your income to make the debt payments, leaving you less to spend. This means you have to borrow more – increasing your debt – just to maintain the same level of spending.
We know our income is not keeping up with our debt levels. Debt was about one and a half times GDP in the 1970s. Now, it’s three and a half times.
I know lower interest rates airbrush the picture… so the debt burden is not so obvious. But unless we’ve eliminated the credit cycle, we have to assume rates will one day turn up again. Then, the cost of all this debt will suddenly hit us – hard. It will take a big chunk out of current spending… leading to those “D” words that you can’t use in public.
The gloom and doomers were right all along. But they didn’t understand any better than anyone else how it really worked. They kept expecting inflation. And it never came. So, they went broke and went away.
Debt is not inflationary. It’s deflationary. You either earn your way out… or you reach a limit, and the economy melts down. And here’s the thing: The super abundance of credit reduces real growth. That’s the thing I just realized. The more credit you make available… to try to ‘stimulate’ the economy… the more you stimulate speculation and suppress real growth. Less real growth means less real income to pay your debt.
So, there’s really no way out… because the debt is slowing down the economy it depends on, like a huge leech that is killing its host. You eventually end up in a Minsky Moment… [when asset values plunge after a long period of speculation and unsustainable growth]…
What are you going to do then?
Janet: You’re asking me?
Ben: Yea… Janet. I know what I’m going to be doing – collecting more big bucks for telling Goldman how you screwed up. Heh heh.What are you going to do?

DDHK21-001was collared on section 5970 north, approximately 100m to the north of the Kubi Pit.On this particular section, near the middle of the 1Kubi Main Mineral Resource, gold mineralization has previously been outlined by drilling to a depth of 450m. Recent 3D magnetic inversion modelling suggests that the structure that hosts the Kubi deposit extends to +3km in depth. At Kubi the gold is free milling and occurs within a near vertical1km long by 1m to 15m thick shear bounded ‘garnet’ zone. Gold is associated with up to 30% garnet and 15% sulfide mineralization and also occurs as coarse gold in late quartz veins.The drilling has intersected and confirmed garnet zone type mineralization over a core length of 32.5m (true width estimated at7.5m). Visible gold was noted.Geophysical logging of the core and the hole are underway to determine the geophysical ‘fingerprint’ of the gold mineralization for future property scale 3D geophysical modeling, as well as detailed sampling in order to obtain the‘bulk assay’ of the gold content, and to obtain samples for compressive strength testing.Two other holes are planned on this section in order to fully test the characteristics of the mineralization from surface to 100m in depth.

Caledonia Mining quarterly output rises 4%

Caledonia Mining Corporation (CALVF, LON:CMCL, TSE:CAL)
saw production grow by almost 4% quarter-on-quarter in
the three months to September 30.



Output from its Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe was 12,042 ounces of
the precious metal compared with 11,588 ounces in Q2.

Production for the nine months was 34,103 ounces, a 1.4%
improvement on the same period last year.

Management has said previously Blanket is on course to produce
around 44,000 ounces in 2013, which would be 10% higher
than the previous guidance of 40,000 ounces.
Monday’s update suggests it will meet the revised target.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Gold makes its move.
The bugs are rampant.

The yellow metal made life very difficult for commentators trying
to keep a regular schedule on Wednesday.

MarketWatch’s Claudia Assis can hardly have hit the send button on
her story headed “Gold ends lower as other metals gain” , which
dealt with the close of floor trading — the December gold
contract was down $2.40 — when the Fed minutes set the market
roaring.

By the stock market close, gold had risen over $17 to stand 1%
above Tuesday’s stock market closing level and at the highest
since early May.

Gold shares, too, came surging out of negative territory to finish
with strong gains.
The NYSE Arca Gold Bigs Index XX:HUI +0.25% closed up 2.21%,
the highest since June 19 and up 17.2% since the recent low on
July 24.

This late development followed a strong day on Tuesday, which saw
a floor close in the CME December contract of up $19.90 (1.23%)
and a 1.69% gain in the HUI.

This was enough to stimulate exuberant commentary by the Aden
Forecast’s GCRU service, published early Wednesday morning:
“AND..... THEY’RE OFF! The markets have taken off.
The train has left the station, and another leg up in the bull
market is getting started.”

“Whether it be gold shares on their own, compared to gold,
versus bonds or versus the stock market, gold shares are rising
from the dead.”

The Gold Standard has returned to mainstream U.S. politics
for the first time in 30 years, with a “Gold Commission” set
to become part of official Republican party policy.

exciting aspect to the Nama copper/cobalt project in Zambia.

It said the latest drilling results differed markedly in
mineralisation style to other properties in the region in that
the zone.

Blanket Gold Mine’s exploration interests in Zimbabwe include
both producing claims (on-mine) and

Exploration and Development of Non-Producing Claims

New headgear, winders and winder house and compressor installed
for the purpose of sinking a new shaft down to Level 4 (approx.
150m below surface).

Blanket has 18 brownfields old Gold mines projects in the
vicinity of the existing mine operations,
many of which were mined commercially from the early 1900s
until the 1960’s.
At the time of their closure, only the highest grade portions
of these mines had been extracted, leaving significant amounts
of lower grade mineralisation in the workings which are likely
payable given the current gold price.

In addition, these old ore shoots remain open to depth and
require further exploration and development to determine
their full potential.
Advances in exploration, mining and metallurgical technologies
over the last 40 years means that such old workings may now
potentially be economically viable on a sustainable basis and
not just because of the high gold prices which currently
prevail.


The Gold Mines Ore shoots AR Main,
AR South and Blanket Reef,
which comprise the deepest areas of mining at
Blanket, have been exposed down to 750 meters below surface.

However, the ore shoots on neighbouring
Vubachikwe Gold Mine -
have been mined down to 1,100 meters below surface, suggesting
that Blanket has at least this potential to increase
its resources -

GG Gold Mine Project is located approximately 7 km south of the
existing Blanket Mine operations.
The GG targeted ore body occurs in sheared and altered basaltic
rocks of the Mafic unit (like Blanket’s ore shoots) and
old workings are limited to shallow surface excavations -


New headgear, winders and winder house and compressor installed
for the purpose of sinking a new shaft down to Level 4
(approx. 150m below surface).

CALVF Blanket Gold carried out a preliminary geological
investigation followed up by a 16-hole diamond drilling program
which showed encouraging gold values over highly varying
widths.
Gold enrichment is associated with arsenopyrite which occurs in
quartz shears within broad zones of bleaching (carbonate and
mica alteration).
The highest grades are associated with the intersection of two
vertical shear zones and therefore follow a steep shoot
structure with a strike of about 150 meters.

The mining of exploratory drives, raises and cross-cuts will be
required to determine the shape of the mineralisation in 3D and
hence determine the optimal shape of the shoot for mining
purposes.

Work commenced on excavating a 140 meter deep exploration shaft
in May 2010.
This work was suspended in 2011 pending the installation of an
electricity connection by the Zimbabwe electricity Supply
Authority (ZESA) which is now expected to be completed in the
first half of 2012.
The shaft sinking and underground development is
expected to commence on the 60 m and 120 m levels.
Pre-sink work has been completed and the headgear and a winder
have been installed.
This development will provide the exposure necessary to map out
the geology and evaluate the mineralisation, as well as provide
a bulk sample of reef material for metallurgical testing.
All reef development ore that can be treated profitably at
Blanket’s metallurgical plant will be sent there for treatment.
In the event that the GG prospect is shown to be viable,
production could commence within two years as the mine would
not require extensive capital expenditure.

Each of these shafts operated until the mid-1960’s
after which production ceased due to the political
manipulation of GOLD price at fiat$25-30.-/oz at that time and
the limitations of the technology that was then
available.

Blanket management believes that the application of modern techniques may allow some or all
of these shafts to operate profitably. Depending on the rate and extent of the rehabilitation and favourable
results from exploration work, the earliest that production could commence at the Mascot Project area
would be in early 2012 with the maximum eventual daily production anticipated at a rate of up to 400
tonnes of ore per day from the three shafts. Such mined ore would then be trucked to the Blanket plant

The skips automatically tip ore hoisted to surface into
the Shaft Bins on the No4 Shaft headgear.
Ore is gravity fed from the Shaft Bins onto the No1 belt which
conveys the ore over the automated belt scale and to vibrating
screens and 14x24 Telsmith jaw crushers.
This crushing circuit reduces the ore to minus 50 mm and it is
then deposited by the No 2 belt stockpile conveyor onto the
coarse ore stockpile which has a live capacity of approximately
2,000 tonnes of material.
Ore from the coarse ore stockpile is then fed onto the triple-
deck vibrating screen with the oversize being crushed to minus
12 mm by one of two 38H Telsmith Gyrasphere crushers.
The 12mm ore is then fed into the 600 tonne Mill Bin which
feeds the two (of the three installed) 1.8 x 3.6 m rod mills
where it is milled down to approximately 70% passing 75
microns, before being passed through two 30 inch continuous
Knelson Concentrators where approximately 49% of total gold
production is recovered.
The Knelson Concentrator tails are pumped through cyclones and
into a 3.66 x 4.9 m x 750kW (1,000 HP) regrind ball mill.

As part of the No 4 Shaft Expansion Project, the capacity of
the secondary crushers was increased to over 2,000 tpd and the
capacity of the rod mills was increased to 1,800 tpd.

The slurry from the regrind mill is pumped into a carbon in
leach ("CIL") plant consisting of eight, 600 cubic meter leach
tanks equipped with 45 kW agitators where leaching at 50%
solids and simultaneous adsorption of dissolved gold onto
activated carbon takes place.

The CIL plant has a nameplate capacity of 3,800 tonnes of
milled ore per day.

Elution of the gold from the loaded carbon and electro winning
is done on site.
Gold is deposited onto steel wool cathodes, the loaded cathodes
are acid-digested and the resultant gold solids are smelted in
an induction furnace to produce gold bullion of approximately
90% purity.
Blanket exporting it directly to Rand Refinery in South Africa
for final refining and sale.
The full proceeds of sale (i.e. before payment of any royalty)
are paid directly into Blanket's foreign currency account with
its commercial bank in Zimbabwe within approximately 7 days of
receipt of the gold by Rand Refineries.

Overall gold recovery rates have been increased from 85% at the
time of acquisition by Caledonia to over 92% as a result of
the re-design of more efficient CIL agitators and the
installation of an automated liquid sodium cyanide facility
which allows for multiple stage cyanide dosing and monitoring
of the CIL.
The PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) Oxygen Generator should
be re-commissioned after its overhaul during March 2012 and
the controlled sparging of oxygen into the CIL is expected
to result in an increase in leach recoveries.

Caledonia Mining Corporation -

exploration company, has announced that its Gold production at
the Blanket mine in Zimbabwe more than doubled in 2011.

The company's production increased in each of the last seven
quarters and in the fourth quarter alone, 10,533 ounces of the
precious metal were produced, exceeding the firm's quarterly
production target of 10,000 ounces.
The total gold production in the year increased by 102 per cent
to 35,826 ounces.

Net profit after tax for the year came in at C$12.1 million on
turnover of C$55.7 million compared to C$22.4 million in 2010.

Cash and cash equivalents as at year-end stood at
C$9.7 compared to C$1.14 mln at December 31, 2010.

Highlights of the period included a five hold drill programme
at the wholly-owned Nama copper/cobalt property in
northern Zambia, which identified a new mineralised zone.

A large enough shallow resource could provide a future open-pit
operation and further exploration has now begun consisting
of 8,400 metres drilling.

NYBob...reference; NBRI, placer or load mine ?

Sorry, don't have premium account...PM'd you during Freebee-Friday HappyHour...had 2 hunt you down over here :))
NBRI has a bunch of holdings in Canada & the USofA but the Ruby Goldmine in the Calif GoldCountry is their primary target right now. Ruby is quite unique in that it is 'primarilly an underground placer mine encasing a pre-historic riverbed...loaded with monster nuggets...it also contains some hardrock ore deposits. This historic mine has a lenghty history of proven reserves (see pictures in their iBox). The section these nuggets were mined out of is still largely untapped because the government forcefully shut them down during the 2nd WorldWar & the price of gold was limited to $35/oz for many years after the war....making it not worth their while to re-open it regardless of the known wealth it contained. Many years later, another operator started to re-open it when gold went back up...they got all the infra-structure in-place [mill,lighting,shoring,ventilation etc] only to run onto hard times from some ancillary problem I'm not to clear on. In any case , they now have a new (qualified) owner & have all required permits & most of their funding in-place. They are in the process of re-opening the mine...dbl-checking all the infra-structure for safety & function & completing a few needed improvements before gearing-up. That's about it from my perspective except to note that NBRI remains vigilant in actually 'doing' what they say their going to do , in keeping their filings up2date & maintaining/managing a reasonable share structure. At .14cents a share , this appears to be a (way) better shot at some profits than the average run-of-the-mill mining scams...IMO anyway.
BTW; while we're on the subject of 'miners'...my favorite pick is RBY...beyond the pennies @+/-$3.50 but take friggin' look at their incredible drilling results on their GoldLake project...next-door to GoldCorp & likely tied into the same deposits. There's a possibility that they may just be waiting for a targeted buy-out offer instead of actually 'mining' this puppy. This stock fluctuates 'big-time' in pps & I'm pretty sure their current down-trend is due to frustrated investors wondering when the hell they're going to stop 'testing' & start mining. They've recently taken-on some 'operations' specialist so , I think that may[?] be closer to a reality now. Still , it may be some time [1or2 yrs maybe] before this turns into a monster...look close at their test drilling results...just incredible.

Wow, 20 cent gas!!

Those were the days…most of us alive have never seen anything like that. The lowest I remember is around $0.80 per gallon (regular cash, or Federal Reserve Notes). Today, gas prices are once again broaching records with many motorists now paying over $4.00 per gallon.

One of the factors driving record gas prices is a weak dollar and price inflation. But a burning question remains.

Is it wise to use my stash of pre-’64 dimes, quarters and half dollars to buy gas and groceries?

It may at some point but according to Michael Rozeff, not right now.

Take Roosevelt dimes for example, which contain 0.14468 troy ounces of silver. At $4 a gallon, that would correspond to a silver price of around $27.65 per ounce. As of this writing, silver is hovering around $34 per ounce. Using the gas station’s current $0.20 gas offer means the implicit gas price is more around $5.06 per gallon in Federal Reserve Notes.

Therefore, he says he will continue using paper money to buy gas until it reaches over $5 per gallon.

How’s a consumer supposed to know the right quantity of silver to pay for gas?

Conversion tools will need to be developed of course…there are a few already in the experimentation phase.

I’ve often wondered how one would go about determining the proper amount of silver to offer for payment. If the monetary system completely dissolves, how would a person know the proper value for something?

Conversion calculators like those featured here and here can offer some guidance.

This is the latest in a slew of signs that Americans are starting to embrace instruments of real money, specifically gold and silver coins.

I ended up buying some silver bullion today. Feel pretty good about it and may get some more next week.

The guy I bought from also has some $20 ST Gauden PCGS MS64 grade coins. 1915, 1927 etc... coins. None of the real valuable ones. we was wanting $330 over the spot gold value of the coins. Nice coins but hard I opted for the silver bullion at spot.

I think silver and gold could be the thing to have. I can't find any reason as to why they've went down. I did read that Soros and JP Morgan dumped a bunch back into the market but that will be a short term down trend IMO.

Have an opportunity to purchase up to 1000 oz of 1 oz .999 silver rounds (silver eagles) as well as some $20 Saint Gauden MS64 coins at spot or just a bit under.

Don't have the cash to buy the whole lot but looking to buy a fair amount of the silver and some of the gold.

Buy gold and silver on the dip as US Treasuries lose appeal

Gold’s decline last week provides a good opportunity for investors to buy on the dip.



“Bargain hunting aided by a weakening of the USD [US fiat dollar]
and recognition that markets had become oversold” has already
sparked an initial rally, stated a Credit Agricole report.
The imminent Greek debt restructuring – highlighting the
weakness of fiat currencies – also boosted gold.

From a technical perspective, gold is looking bullish on “daily,
weekly and monthly cloud charts,” stated the Credit Agricole
report.

Moreover, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reported
that the central banks of Mexico, Russia, and Thailand have
continued to buy gold.
These central banks have become wary of US-dollar denominated
investments, particularly US Treasuries.

At current yields, “U.S. Treasuries and the bond market in
general are being ‘repressed,’ ’capped’ or simply overvalued
compared to the prior 30 years,” said Bill Gross of PIMCO.

Gross is referring to the fact that US rates across the yield
curve are often at or below inflation. Holder of Treasuries –
like foreign central banks, for example – therefore lose real
value on their principal.
Moreover, Asian officials are complaining that QE2 is
monetizing the US debt.

It’s not just Asian central banks that are buying gold, however;
Asian consumers are also snapping up physical gold.

On the back of these supportive fundamentals, last week’s
decline provides an attractive entry for new gold investments.
