ETV Tech Inc. is about to buy iPrism from Memex. This software was used to create the media-data infrastructure for CNN and DirecTV. It is a powerful and versatile multi-faceted server application that has been redesigned to work on the Internet. The original developers that created this software over 10 years ago have joined the ETV to guarantee the successful implementation of this product to market. From what I understand, when broadband access overtakes conventional dial-up access the World Wide Web as we know it will change towards a medium similar to television. Specialized software is needed to stream multiple data to our browsers in order to allow real-time functionality like CNN and DirecTV, but interactive like the Internet. I think that this is going to be an excellent product to take to market, as there are very few competitors. The companies that are heading towards this market already have substantial market caps, unlike this company that is less than $4 million CDN.
