These companies not only have above-average organic sales growth, profitability, ROIC and free cash generation, but also are all consistently exceptional at accretively redeploying the cash they generate. Crane is a company that has a good secular growth payments and merchandising technologies business that automates electronic and currency transactions around the world as well as produces high-speed currency validation, counting and exchange equipment. Crane is finally beginning to experience its first sequential order and sales growth reacceleration for its fluid-handling business, which generates about two-fifths of the company’s sales, after an extended period of decline beginning in 2012 or 2013. After several years of extensive operational restructuring, fluid handling is now generating very high incremental margins.

Crane Co. and its subsidiaries are a manufacturer of engineered industrial products. The Company consists of five segments: Aerospace & Electronics, Engineered Materials, Merchandising Systems, Fluid Handling and Controls. Aerospace & Electronics segment supplies components and systems, including original equipment and aftermarket parts, for both the commercial and military aerospace industries. Engineered Materials segment consists of the Crane Composites fiberglass-reinforced plastic panel business. Merchandising Systems segment is divided into two businesses, Vending Solutions and Payment Solutions. Fluid Handling segment is a provider of engineered fluid handling equipment, such as valves, lined pipe and pumps. The Company acquired Money Controls and Merrimac in December 2010 and February 2010 respectively. In July 2010, it sold Wireless Monitoring Systems (WMS) to Textron Systems. In July 2011, the Company acquired W. T. Armatur GmbH & Co.
