American Power Converter has roots in the conversion of solar power to alternating current but made its name in reliable, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) starting production in 1982. The primary uses are with computers, workstations and other types of electronic devices. Retail prices range from $40 per unit to $250,000. The rate of growth of sales has slowed in recent years, but as events (such as Y2K and the Aug. 14, 2003 Blackout in the N.E. of North America) come and go, there have been surges in sales. Stock price has also followed these events. I've been invested in this stock for a number of years while managing the risk of ownership with a method called AIM. Here is the model of APCC in recent times: The model has us accumulate during price weakness and lighten up when share price is strong. News items, trading methods and general commentary on the company and its prospects are welcome. Best regards, Tom Veale
