ok, i just watched sunday’s show….

…..

- jack (funny face) didnt over do the faces this time and i liked the song.

- mia- strange dress, pretty girl, but song was just ave.

- mackenzie- enough of the poor me songs already, we need a break! it was boring and just “meh” for me

- roman- sounded like he has the sore throat and burning lungs, like i have right now. lol. i dont like that style of music that he does.

- kennedy- if my mom was still alive, she would have loved it. we used to sing “love will build a bridge” at karaoke back in the day. anyway, kennedy cracked badly and it was just average.

- ajii- NOPE!

- jennifer- hmmm- it was not good.

- emmy- it was ok but boring and repetitive. but she looked great though.

- triston - i loved it. like i said before, he will grow into that voice and he has the heart for it. i even got my first chill bumps of the season!

- odell- you loved it - but i heard a lot of flat keys, but it was just “good” and she did have the emotion for it.

- kayko- YOU liked it, but for me, it was just “ok” remember to look away and listen as well. you will focus more on the tune, keys, voice, etc.

- jordan- awful start- it got better but pitchy and boring.

- quint- NOPE from me, just average.

- kaib- pretty girl but sappy songs can really wreck your delivery, way too much crying on idol now days, get it together folks!

- nya- the song showed off her range. i liked it but was a bit “screechy”

- jayna- OMG, another sappy poor me song!! it was good. but dang, sappy sappy sappy.

- abi- you loved it- another sappy sad song, and a strange song title “the black parade”.. it was boring but at least she was on key, so, it was good for that reason.

- will- it was pretty good, gritty, and heartfelt. he’s a man,, not a girly boy. been saying this for years but we need more of that now days.

tonight was overall boring and depressing. maybe its the fact that my fever keeps going up, even with meds, maybe im cranky? lol

tonights (mon) show just wrapped up but i dont have the energy to watch it til tomorrow, but i love reading your details before i watch. see ya then.

you said they film funny face from a distance, but im telling you, its cause of the massive amount of foamy spit in the sides and back of his mouth.

grades (only) as i skimmed and did see it appeared it got better..

i need sleep but i keep fighting it, lol. they hubby took the day off work today as (yesterday) he dropped brand new very sharp lawn mower blades (two) and they skimmed is calf (he was in shorts),, it was border line stitch worthy so i have to tend to him when all i want to is sleep, lol.

i heard a bang and metal clanking sound, in the garage… as i went to open the door, he piled in holding one of the two cuts, blood coming out faster than he could stop with a paper towel and said “do you think this will need stitches?”. i left him for just 2 seconds and boom, he got hurt, lol.

i sat him down, propped the leg up, put pressure, and wrapped it good. wish us luck on that, lol.

In the beginning of the show it started off really badly. I was starting to think this is gonna be tough cutting just 6. But it started to pick up when we got to the end of the 1rst group. Hope you feel better by the way.

sick in years, thx to vit d3 and zinc but somethings got me pretty good, had a bunch of old asian men hacking openly around my hubby and me, they do that a lot for some reason. and now, im pretty sick, but i plan to read it later today, i did notice a lot of bad “grades” and “a’s” so it sounds like it will be a good show… i will read every drop maybe after i get some sleep. but i will read it all, i love you’re reviews.

My take on Yesterday's show

So we have the top 24 sitting there, and they announce the top 20 1 by 1. They start with my opinion the much weaker group which was the second group.

1) Jack- First one through is Funny face guy. I didn't love the song he choose. He sang slightly above average. But forget the faces for a second, that song can only be so good no matter who sings it in my opinion. They seemed to spend alot of time on a far away camera angle in my opinion away from his face in parts. Maybe that was just me I guess. Grade C+

2) Mia- I've been up and down with her throughout the contest. For me when she powered up she got pitchey and whiney not a great combo. Overall I thought the vocal was below average. Grade D+

3) Mckenzie- Sings a LG Song, usually I'm a fan. But this was his worst performance to date. The vocal was all over the place, and pitchey in parts. Just average at best for me, and I might be being generous with him here. Grade C

4) Roman- Voice sounded scratchey tonight. Followed up by too much screaming/overdone for me. I have to say I found it slightly below average. Grade C-

5) Kennedy- Started off fine, and than when she powered up a combo of a lot of pitchey and off key. Didn't like it below average for me. Grade D+

6) Ajii- Don't know the song, and didn't like it too be honest. A few bad notes with a bunch of yelling thrown in. Also not clear in parts. Slightly below average for me. Grade C-

7) Jennifer- Not her biggest fan so far, and this week was a combo of seeming like she singing too slow for the song, flat in parts, and another suck the life out of the room special. Below average at best. Grade D+

8) Emmy- Have not been her biggest fan either, but had her best week to date last week. Sang and original song this week which I liked. Her voice was decent enough, it is a very quiet voice, a little too quiet for me. So I will always be longing for more. KP was saying she needs to sing with more power, problem is I don't think her voice will sound very good if she does that in my opinion. Still for this week another slightly above average performance I liked the song, and she sound fine for what it is. Grade C+

9) Triston- I liked the original song (I believe it was anyways) alot and he can sing. My only problem with him that will always hold him back is his tone of voice at times. Overall a good Job this week though. Grade B

10) Odell- Finally someone who can flat out sing. The vocal was excellent, it was emotional, and a all around excellent performance. Grade A

They than send Elleigh and Kblocks home, which were the two I predicted last week from this group.

Then we start the first group in my opinion the better group.

11) Kayko-I have been a fan of him. And he sang yet another original song. I like this song too. The guy is a really good song writter in my opinion, He also played liked a guitar solo in the middle of the song which was pretty good in my opinion. As for the vocal I thought it was a good, combined with good emotional performance, a good original song, makes it play up for me. Near excellent. Grade A-

12)Jordan- The Australian guy, another one I have been a fan of. Sings a BE song, I thought all and all was a good emotional vocal that was imperfect, the mic even kind of had a issue (Falling) in a part of the vocal, I thought he handled that like a real pro. As I said It wasn't perfect, but it was good. Grade B

13) Quintavious- Sings the other song he didn't choose last week from TK. Overall I liked this vocal alot. He did a very good job and my favorite performance of him to date. Grade B+

14) Kaibrienne- Sings a original song. Stopped numerous times in the song, as the over come with emotion routine she pulls off. Maybe she is that emotional, but you need to control it better than that in my opinion. For me what she did was like if you watched a juggler drop the ball numerous times. For me it is well below average. Grade D

15) Nya- Sings a classic Song. A strong combo of sour screamy and pitchey. Well below average for me. Grade D

16) Jayna- Sings a MC Song, now in my opinion a very difficult song to sing well. Not a perfect vocal, but had more than enough good parts in the songs to hold her own on a very tough song to sing in my opinion. I thought it was a good performance overall given the degree of difficulty on that song. Grade B

17) Abi- She is a very strange singer, but this one worked alot for me. It was very emotional and a very good vocal. I really like it. Near excellent. Grade A-

18) Will-I didn't love the song, yet he still sounded very good and I liked the performance. It was very good for me, slightly held back by the song. Grade B+

19) Mckennah-I thought she did a very good job on that song. She sounded very good and it was emotional as well. Near excellent performance for me. Grade A-

20) Julia- Singing a song, that I feel almost never gets covered well, because you can't capture the emotion and the intangibles the artist brought to the song in my opinion. Having said that she sang emotionally, and it was a very strong vocal. It obviously still wasn't as good as the original, but she covered it about the best I've heard of anyone covering it. Seemed less in her head when she performed this week, and her voice just sounded much better this week much less deep. Near excellent performance. Grade A-

Cut Blake and Hailey. Had Blake right, but not Hailey.

My 6 cuts since they are going down to a top 14 on Monday.

omg, wow, so…..

first off, i thought tuesday was too busy to post?? well…. wed (today) was even insane, but i still watched the show just now, and it was a great way to wind down.

My hubby had the day off, unexpectedly, for a (muslim) holiday that we do NOT celebrate.. but fairfax county (va) is a hugely lib county and they dont like our country much now days, anyway, it was something about ramadon? lol. so, we took advantage of this day off for him and we had to drive all the way across this large county to the courthouse, to renew our concealed weapon permits, then get him to dmv to get his drivers lic updated with our new address and all, (i already did mine) but you have to go in person… then he got his new riding lawn mower delivered, so he cut the grass with that. he was thrilled, as the push mower, although self-propelled, was not easy. then i planted grass seed where needed, then put good soil on that, then fertilizer, omg, we could barely move after all that.

so, about the show…

I never got the “jelly roll” craze, but i have to say, after watching him so engaging with everyone, that was pretty cool. i dont think he will live very long at his size and all, using a cane so young.. but on with the show…

- odell- i love “funk” music witch i think originated from DC (just minutes away from me).. my hubby and i both love that style. but he had too much forced vibrato and runs.

- elleigh- i cant get past those huge hairy eyebrows, like you cant get past the boy that sings with the faces, lol. and its a NO from me, on her singing.

- mackenzie- you liked this best but the song was just OK for me, yet it was a good stage performance.

- jen- i like her soft voice a lot but the louder “gruffness” is not good. is “gruffness” a word? well, if not.. then i just made it so. lol

- emmy- she cries all the time, she is a hot mess. sang another poor me song.. flat and off key some and was just average.

- ajii- too fast and forced vibrato. strange song that got annoying.

- kennedy- great song in general, but it was way too rushed, hard to catch your breath at that rate, but she did great, i loved it.

- jack- (funny face guy).. sadly, “jelly” encouraged him to not listen to anyone and to keep making the dumb faces, but having said that… omg, i loved it! i liked his voice before too, but i must say, the frothy foam from his spit, all around in his mouth, was very off-putting.

- roman- you liked it.. i hated the runs but overall it was good.

- kb- you said “painful” and i have to agree yet it was a very entertaining stage performance.

- mia- very good, but more power would have made it great! nicely done.

- triston- you know i love this kid.. and yes, he is way young and sounds young but. when he grows into his voice, he may be the next Charlie Pride! (do you remember him?)

the band was just amazing tonight, i mean spot on with them jumping to the last note or whatever, they were great.

eyes and listen part of the time, or walk out of the room, and think to myself “would i buy that song or at least listen to it on the radio?”.

try it some time, as “funny face guy” may move you but the beautiful ladies may NOT move you when you cant see them. thats how i judge them.

having said that… i will watch them wed night… (had too much going on today, plumbers here all day trying to figure something out) and wed, the hubby is off from work for the day, for a non American “holiday” that we do NOT celebrate. sigh… but we have a ton to do, figured we would get it done then, but i am “all ears” tomorrow night my friend. stay tuned.

My Take on Monday's Showing

You know what is funny in a previous post you were telling me about all the things the contestants have to deal with, but I have come to the conclusion your a far tougher grader than I am. LOL. well here goes.

1) Odell- A platinum ticket holder, sings a BM Song. Brought great energy and fired up the crowd with the best of them. Good Vocal with a great performance. Grade A-

2) Elliegh- Sings a CLG song. Alot of bad notes here, she did a decent job in performing, but the vocal was below average for me. Slightly below average overall. Grade C-

3) Mackenzie- Sings a NJ Hit. He changed the song a little. I liked it alot, excellent vocal with excellent stage presence it was very good. Best of the night for me. Grade A

4) Jennifer- Sings a LC song. As one knows coming in I'm not her biggest fan to say the least. On a positive note, that was the best I heard her, on a negative note that is a low bar to climb. Still don't love her tone, but at least she didn't suck the life out of the room on this one. Slightly Above Average for me. Grade C+

5) Emmy- As one knows coming in I'm not her biggest fan to say the least. Overall thought this was the best we heard her so far. As the song went on it actually started to like it more as it went on. Above average/solid for me which is great for her. Grade B-

6) Ajii- Decent vocal, but a strange song, and his prenunciation wasn't always clear in the song. Hence above average to solid for me. Grade B-

7) Kennedy- Sings a RM Song Started off good, with total control and good stage presence. Downside is it wasn't as good when she powered up, in fact she confused power with shouting in my opinion at times. Slightly Above Average for me. Grade C+

8) Jack- Sings a KM Song. Otherwise known as the funny face guy. I liked the vocal, but the faces hold it back for me. Slightly Above average. Grade C+

9)Roman- I thought he was very solid, and what I liked is he didn't go nuts the whole song this time with his crazy runs and all. He did it at the right time and it worked for me. It was very good. Grade B+

10) Kblocks- Sing a KP Song, she is a strange singer with a very weird style. It will work on some songs, it won't work on others. It clearly didn't work here, as that was a painful vocal to listen too in my opinion well below average and worst of the night and it wasn't even close. Grade D

11) Mia- It was emotional that is the good news. The bad news was the vocal from the the tone on the song, to all the bad note hit. Slightly below average for me. Judges seemed to love I just didn't get it.Grade C-

12) Triston- Sings a big hit by BS. Overall it was pretty good. I liked him on the song. It wasn't as good as the original of course. But he was solid. Grade B

I would cut KBLOCKS and Elleigh. At least that is my thoughts on the show. All is just my opinion of course.

first of all, the mic quality was awful. very muffled, so everyone sounded “blah” over all, so, with that in mind…

hailey- no good

jordan- meh

jayna- she’s got the look but it was meh and boring

julia- she really looks a lot like kelly clarkson, especially her profile.. i have said that before i think.. anyway… it was just average and boring.

kayko- great look but NOPE!

nya- i cant make out what the words are and was pitchy at times but it was ok.

blake- you hated it and i agree!! more “poor me” stuff and he did awful at it.

abi- sappy song that started out good but fell apart

quint- i was impressed. he did good but struggled with the big notes.

kb- hmmm, not goood.

will- you loved it as 2nd best of the night but for ME it was top of the night. pitchy just a tad at times, but this is a manly man vs a girly-boy “poor me” song (and i have complained about that type of music for years here)

mckennna- you said was the best but dont let her good looks confuse you.. close your eyes and listen again, maybe find it on Youtube’s American idol page, as they play them all on line there. its just average this time around.

i will plan to watch monday’s show on tues night. stay tuned and i look forward to your thoughts in it too.

keep in mind, they have a lot going on, and a lot to think about, they are told to stand this way, look at the camera, dont look at the camera, smile, move around on stage.. and they have all these songs to learn in a very short time. its tough, im sure. im looking forward to hearing will and mckenna since you liked those best.

My Take On the show Last Night

Overall I thought the show was solid with some excellent performance, a bunch of good performance, and a bunch that were less than that and one which was obvious was the worst of the night by a country mile it stuck out like a sore thumb to be honest. So here we go.

1) Hailey- Sings a TM Song, Overall a solid vocal and solid performance. Don't think this was the best song for her or a singing competition, and we have heard her better. Having said that it was still solid. Grade B

2) Jordan- The austrailian guy, has a solid performance, not sure it was the best song/artist for a male vocalist to sing. My main complaint for him is there were too many runs he put in the song. Heard him better in the past. Grade B-

3) Jayna- Sing a DL song, Had my doubts going in this was a good song choice for her too be honest. But she definetely pulled it off, excellent stage presence and solid vocal in my opinion. Very good performance. Grade B+

4) Julia- Platinum ticket Holder. She can sing. But I didn't love this. I found her voice was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too deep for the song. I also felt like watching her she was thinking rather than feeling. Average for me. Grade C

5)Kayko- Singing another original song. Dedeicated this song to his late mother. I liked the song a lot, he is and excellent song writter in my opinion, And he always sings very emotionally. Solid, but not perfect vocal. Plays up thanks to the emotion and the song writting for me. I thought it was very good. Grade B+

6) Nya- Sings a TT Classic. I like the arrangement she did here. She sang very well. I liked it very much, especially the beginning of the song. Near excellent performance for me here, and the 3rd best performance of the night. Grade A-

7) Blake- Former Football Player. Remember when I said one performance stuck out like a sore thumb this is it. Singing a JB song, his tone is nasally, his timing is terrible, and tons of sour/bad notes, and lacks confidence/looks/feels uncomfortable on stage. Not very good for me and I'm being nice. Grade D

8) Abi- Second Platinum ticket holder. Probably picked the worst song of the night for me. Vocal and performance was just very strange for me, and not perfect. Just Average for me. Grade C

9) Quintavious- Sings a CU song. The beginning wasn't great, than hit the chorus and did his usual gospel/taking it to church performance, where he generally excels. Although he tried some crazy notes on this performance that I'm sure took skill to do, but wasn't the most pleasant to listen too. Just average for me. Grade C

10) Kaibrienne-Sings a BA Song. I don't love it, a combo of scratchey and nasally, and it sounded sour in parts. Slightly Below Average for me. Grade C-

11) Will- Sings a classic song, don't love this song choice for him going in. However, I really Like how he did that. I loved this performance, and was my favorite of the night. He is so consistently good which is another plus. Grade A

12) Mckenna- Sings the BC Song. I thought she covered the song very well, sang nice and emotionally, and just sang it very well. Excellent performance. Second best performance of the night to me. Grade A

Conclusion: Well tonight we have the next 12 get up and sing (Based on the people left I expect yesterday to be better overall). If I were to eliminate two people from this show since that is all that is going home. Would be Blake (Obviously) and Kaibrienne for me. Anyways that is my take. All is just my opinion of course.

mia and mckennah- didnt hear them sing, maybe fast forwarded too much? lol

My Take On the show Last night

1) Jordan- The austrailian guy. He gave a really solid and emotional vocal. Would put him through the top 24 easily. Judges agreed.

2) Odell- Platinum ticket holder, who dedicated his performance to his late sister. He can sing, a little over done for me with runs. It would be a weak/barely yes for the top 24 for me. Judges put him through.

3)Naya- Have liked her in the past. But didn't like this vocal as I found it screamy and all over the place. Based on this alone I would pass, but for me at this point, it is more of a combo of what you done as a whole whether the answer is yes/no. So a weak yes, based on I liked her alot 2/3 times I heard her.

4) Blake- The former football player. From what I heard it sounded off him singing a SM Song. As A whole we have seen him 3 times and everytime I thought he needs alot of work in my opinion. I would pass. Judges put him through.

5) Triston- The 15 year old country singer. It is like he has two voices sometimes and not sure whether they both go together. Seems like a nice kid and all, but for me it sounds too nasally. Don't love his tone. I would pass, but the judges put him through.

6) Roman- Talked about losing his mom. he sang very well in the beginning, than his usual over the top singing occurs with a culmination of him falling intentionally on the stage when he was done. His singing is good if it was under a less is more approach. Problem is Idon't think this guy is gonna pullback, and he gets more over the top every performance both vocally and his stage performance. I'm on the fence leaning towards a no. Judges put him through.

7) Alyssa & Keibrienne- They show these two at the same time. Alyssa sings a classic song,with a combo of a horrible arrangement, and pitchey singing. Keibrienne They show sounded not very good singing yes another classic song. In fact it souned really bad, her tone sounded terrible on that song, and she was off in numerous parts. They have a sing off, where they both once again sounded bad. I would of put neither through, but they decide to put Keibrienne through.

8) Jack- The funny face guy. Once again he can sing, but his faces ruin him for me. I wouldn't put him through, but the judges do.

9) Mia- The better of the two sisters the other one has allready been eliminated, I have been up and down with her. Liked her the first time, down on her the 2nd time, and she was okay last night, not perfect, but not horrible either. On the fence judges put her through.

10) Mckennah- Liked her the first two time I heard her alot, but did not like her last night on a DL song. Would put her through based on past performances. Judges put her through.

11) Emmy- The daughter of a country legend. Not her biggest fan. Liked this performance the best out of the three times I heard her by far, but that is a low bar to surpass. Still don't love it, I would pass, but the judges put her through.

12) Will- Sounds good again love his tone. Good Performance. Very consistent and seems to be always good. Should go through no doubt, judges put him in the top 24.

13) Ajii- He made the mistake of constantly cheering and yelling the whole time for every performance in round 1, you would always see him jumping up and down celbrating and cheering on every performance. Problem is when your a singer, you might lose your voice doing that in round 2. Now having said that I thought he did decent eventhough his voice was not at full strength. He is solid, and consistent. Like him. should go through, judges put him through.

14) Kayko, ellie, and kennedy who they didn't show this round we were told all went through. I like Kayko alot from the previous, round. don't remember Ellie, and Kennedy I remember who I thought was solid her last time, although admittingly a little too broadwayish for me, So need to here more there.

15) Kblocks- Sings BB song, she always sing right on the edge for me whether this is creative and unique and wierd in a good way, or a manic trainwreck. Unfortunetely this last performance I didn't like very much and thought it was a little too manic for me. I'm on the fence overall, judges put her through.

16) Abby- Another platinum ticket holder, lost her voice a bit thanks to bronchitas. Sang okay obviously probably would of been better if she wasn't compromised singing. Liked her the first time I heard her. I would put through and the judges did.

17) Jayna- the girl who tried last season to get through whogot cut at this point. Sang a CD Song she can sing, and should easilyb go through at this point. The judges put her through.

18) Quintavious and Hailey- didn't get to see much of either this round a little more of Hailey we seen this round, but remember them from previous parts of the comp. They both can really sing. And both should og through. Both did.

19) Jennifer- Another not so great performance with her sore throat tone. I would pass, but the judges put her through for some reason that is unclear to me.

20) Julia- Platinum ticket holder. Was fantastic the first time we heard her. But not this time the vocal was all over the place. I really didn't like it. I'm on the fence on the overall picture. Judges put her through.

21) Mackenzie and Ziggy- Ziggy sings the song that round, and the words unmitgated disaster come to mind. Mckenzie, who I have like throughout this competition had his weakest performance to date, didn't love it, stiill way better than ziggy though. I would of put mackenzie through and got rid of ziggy. Judges need a sing off. Ziggy sings the sing off song okay. And mackenzie outsings him by a country mile as I thought he was solid in the sing off. Judges put mackenzie through didn't need the sing off to know that was the right decision, but at the end of the day they got to the same point as I would of by putting mackenzie in the top 24 and eliminating ziggy.

Anyways that is my take for this show. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.

triston- he’s a nice boy, i loved it.. and black country stars is all the rage now, so he should do well.

emmy-, you hated it and i agree, it was horrible and yet another poor me song.. she is like “poor me, im the grand daughter of Lorreta Lynn. poor me. lol.

jack- yup, the faces ruin what is a good voice, over all.

kayko- you loved it.. i say he has the great looks but another poor me song, and i didnt like it.

abby- omg i loved her version of this billy joel song, and i loved that song back in the day, hard to sing if you try it. i hated the eyebrows, said it before, maybe thats what got her booted, but i was shocked she got the boot. it was very good.

jennifer- you said it was “painful” and she did yet another “poor me” song.. but i liked it, yet hated the “message” of the song

nya- wowza!! loved it

jacy- NOPE, next!

mia- it was good, but not great

K blocks (what kind of name is that anyway?). she was funny and odd, but the song was ok. sometimes i walk away or close my eyes to hear the song and cut out all the “noise” of the background stories, etc

mckenna- you loved it… last time i saw her, i googled her mother’s youtube videos, it was interesting.. and she sang this very well.

ajii- way overdone but was just ok

madia- awkward, a diva before she is even famous, yet, they coddled her and gave her more chances.. nice voice but she is mental, maybe on drugs and should not be on the show.

camilla- i think i missed some people here, maybe fast forwarded? but wasnt impressed with whoever was next, lol.

KB - as she calls herself.. more poor me stuff, and she is a mess.

Will- you loved it… at 23, i worry about his health, having learned what diabetes and high b/p looks like in a person, he is only 23, i worry for him, but about the song.. it was pretty good, but the guitar was off key.


roman- NOPE!

mckenzie- was ok.

blake- NOPE!

justice- good but way too churchy

kennedy- nope, sorry, it was awful

ziggy- the flamer that they saved for last. hey, did you know that biden declared this past easter “trans awareness day?” to push trans in our faces on Easter?. so, yup, they are in our faces like it or not. and the song was a big NOPE for me. his singing was awful.

i crack up when you say someone is not good and “thats being nice” or when you said “painful” lol. stuff like that gives me a much needed chuckle.

My Take on the show last night.

It was a little different style from years past how they did AI HW Week.

1) Triston- A 15 year Old male country singer. Sings a original song. He can sing that is the good news. The bad news is I don't love his tone. Overall okay, not great, on the fence.

2) Quintavious- From what I heard he sounded pretty good to me.

3) Hailey- From What I heard she also sounded pretty good to me.

4) Emmy- The daughter of a country legend. Sings a original song. To say I didn't like it is a understatement. I would pass.

5) Jack- The guy with the funny faces. His vocal wasn't bad. But i will never get that excitedb about him, because the faces he makes turns me off. I would pass.

6) Kayko-The Guy who wasn't even going to audition, but kind of did after he played piano for his friend Abby the first time we seen him. Sings an oriignal song which I really like the song. Very emotional, maybe a little manic, but in a good way. Good singer not great singer, but the song he wrote and emotion he sang with made it very enjoyable. it was a very good performance.

7) Abby- The other part of the Kayko story. She did decently, liked her, but something is missing when she sings. On the fence leaning towards being positive.

8) Jennifer- Sings an original song. Don't like the way she sings, it sounds like a combo of a sore throat, terrible tone, and sucking the life out of the room all rolled into one. That was painful to listen too, the judges like it though,

9) Nya- From what I heard singing a AF Cassic. She can sing from what I heard, not perfect, but she can sing.

10) Mia and Jacy- The sisters. Jacy sings first the good news is she was clearer than the first time I heard her. The end was decent, but the beginning was a bit shakey. I would pass. Mia- I didn't her either on this, didn't like her tone on this song. I would pass as well.

11) K Blocks- Strangest vocal and performance of the whole night and it isn't even close. At first I wanted not to like it, but it grew on me as it wasn't going on. probably not for everyone, but I did like the performance

12) Mckenna- One of the best vocals and performances of the night. She can flat out sing. Really enjoyed that.

13) Ajee- A Good song, a good vocal, good performance. Liked it.

14) Madai- Signing a AG Song. She stops the vocal twice, tried to throw the band under the bus as well. Not a very good vocal, also very unlikeable in my opinion. Would obviously pass.

15) Camilla, Amanda, and Isabella- Three singers that clearly cracked under the pressure and didn't sound very good. Obviously they all should be sent home.

16) Kaibrienne- She was choked up while singing that song. Although not a perfect vocal obviously some thanks to being choked up. Sang with great emotion, and has a decent voice. Like her seems to have some potential.

17) Will- Sings a CS song. This guy can flat out sing. very good performance.

18) Roman, Mckenzie, Blake, and Justice- Although this segment I got the idea they were trying to show us they had alot of talent. Roman- from what I heard I didn't like it, seemed like he was shouting. Mckenzie- from what I heard, he sounded pretty good to me. Blake- didn't like this guy tone. Justice, was like the female version of roman, pitchey and screaming come to mind. The only one I liked out of this bunch is mckenzie.

19) Kennedy- From what I heard solid vocal. She can sing. A little broadwayish for me, but she is pretty good.

20) Ziggy- He can sing a little too broadwayish for me. It was much better than I thought it was much better than I thought it would be. On the fence.

Hard to tell who got through and who didn't but from my understanding most of the people I liked did get through. Obviously they showed like about 25 people or so so out of about 143 that performed so obviously alot went through with 56 going through, a bunch of people we didn't see. Tonight show which is currently being recorded I will get to at some point. But that is my take for sunday's show. All is just my opinion of course.

sophia- she reminded me of kelly clarkson, both looks and voice, back when she was interviewing. she did good too

camilla- nice story but its AMERICAN idol. obama did warn us that we all must learn to speak spanish for the fundamental transformation of American to come.. so, i guess i didnt heed the warning and have no idea what her songs were about, but she sang ok.

garrison- wowza, my fav of the night, loved it.

jayna- great job and the pianist was completely into it.

keegan- “flamers” are all mentally unstable and this proves it. NO, lol

cate- nice story but its a NO for me. i got bored and fast forwarded to the next one.

mia- good job

jacy, no way, but loved the harmony with mom, they all 3 did good together.

jordan- sappy and boring, just average.

yvan- (a guy, who knew?) has a cool look, not a bad looking guy under all that mess, but he’s nuts, its a no.

victoria- she looked and sang a bit like brittany spears, and they ate it up.

tyesha- just ok

spenser- no

bethany- sweet girl, horrible outfit (for her shape) it was good but not great

isiah- scruffy is in now days.. he did a good job.

julia- ok but too dramatic (singing) and the judges got sucked in on the story and not the singing.

My Take on Last Night's Show

This was a far better show than last week, although they still did put through there fair share of people I didn't think should go through.

1) Ricky- He played the piano and sang very well, on a different interpetation of that song, than I'm used to seeing covered in my opinion. Has top 10 potential in my opinion, and the judges put him through.

2) Lianna- She sings and original song. Don't love her tone, and question her range. Judges have her sing a secong song, didn't like the vocal either, judges put her through for some reason, I would of passed obviously.

3) Sophia, Brent and Carmen- I guess this trio was to show off youth and confidence. Sophia- sang a KP song, sang well enough to get through at this point. Not perfect, but as I said more than good enough. Brent- Didn't like his sound, sang like he had a sore throat and not in a good way. I would pass. Carmen- She wasn't very good and i'm being nice, yet the judges loved her. I would of just put through Sophia, judges put all through.

4) Camilla- Dad from reality TV Show. She is 14 years old sings in spanish. I didn't love her vocal thought she was pitchey and a little all over the place. I would of passed the judges put her through.

5) Garrison- Sings a SW classic. Don't think it was the right song for him. Not perfect was on the fence leaning towards a yes. The judges put him through.

6) Jayna- Was on AI Last season. Not perfect, but more than good enough at this point. She can sing though. easily through for me. Judges put her through.

7) Keegan- The guy on skates. I was expecting a worse vocal than he gave.Having said that I would pass and the judges did.

8) Cate- the 18 year old mother, sang an original song, a better song, than vocal. I was on the fence with her voice. The judges put her through. And I guess I would of to.

9) Mia and Jacy- The sisters tryout together. Jacy sings first,not clear with her words and prenunciation, sound like she has some kind of speech issue when she sings. Also a little pitchey and all over the place. I would pass. Mia- sang much better than her sister, solid vocal, easily through at this point. I would put Mia through and pass on Jacy, judges put both through.

10) Jordan- From Austrailia, Sings a LC song, one of my favorite current Artists out there. He plays on the piano, in my opinion he sang very well, and has top 10 potential in my opinion, can flat out sing. Judges put him through.

11) Yvan- Now we have a dog lose in the audition room. He is singing some crazy song, not very well. I would obviously pass, judges did pass thankfully.

12) Victoria- Young girl singing a MT song. Good news is she has the confidence to sing that song. But my problem is the vocal wasn't very good, and that is a problem. I would pass, judges put her through.

13) Tyesha and Spencer- Tyesha singing from what I heard was very solid. Would put her through. Spencer Also sang well from what I heard. Both should go through, and both did.

14) Bethany- Sings a KC Song. She can sing, had a solid vocal and sang emotionally. Easy yes for me at this point, and she was put through by the judges.

15) Isaiah- Sang an original song, thought his original song was pretty good. And like his voice. Easy yes, with possible top 10 potential in my opinion.

16) Julia- Adpoted women from Maine. Sings a AF Classic, Admittingly not my favorite style of music, but she can flat out sing. Top 10 potential in my opinion without a doubt. Judges put her through with a platinum ticket.

Conclusion: I thought last night's show was much better than last week. This is the end of the audition phase. Next week AI will be on both Sunday and monday (Hollywood week). Anyways those are my thoughts for the week. All is just myopinion of course.

My Take on the Show Last Night

1) Deida-The girl with the three visually impaired brothers. She can sing that is a positive, the negative is she does way too many runs, and seems to throw her off. Don't love her style/delivery of singing. I was on the fence, but the judges were waaaaaaaaaaaay too positive in my opinion.

2) Elleigh- Sings a BR Classic. Sang Excellent. Great Control. Possible top 10 potential. She was very good.

3) Athena- The girl with the very attached little sister. I thought it was a mediocre vocal at best. Her sister recommends her to sing a second song, and she didn't sing very well. I would pass, but the judges like it for some unexplained reason and put her through.

4) Quintavious- The good news is he can sing. Bad news is way too many runs and way to overdone. For me didn't love his style. I was on the fence, but the judges liked him.

5) Lillian- Sang an original song her tone isn't very good and I'm being nice. I would pass but the judges liked her.

6)Peyton- Sings an original song, her tone isn't very good, not sure if it is her voice hasn't matured yet or she just doesn't have a good tone. The judges passed and so would I.

7) Showed three people- All needed alot of work. The good news is the pass for me was passed by the judges the other two were sought of one the fence, but both needed a ton of work. The crazy part of this segment was watching girl get a yes do to KP winning a mooing contest.

8) Dave- The guy lost 65 pounds in like 12 weeks. he sings emotionally that is a plus. He can sing. Don't love his tone as it is slightly nasally. Should go through as of right now, judges put him through with a 2-1 ruling.

9) Reagan- He sings the first song, he sounds decents. KP goes to the piano, and after that it seems like he starts yelling/screaming and they suddenly love it. I'm on the fence at best, but the judges put him through.

10) Julie- Think she is a rock star. The vocal was very strange. She come in very unpolished might have some potential, but too manic at this point for me. I'll pass and the judges didn't put her through.

11) Alyssa- Was on AI before and was the friend of Julie. Didn't like how she kind of went about getting her audition. I have to be honest. But to be fair she can sing. I would put her through and the judges did.

12) Amari- Sings a BS Song, was one of the strangest audition with a mouth trumpet. The second song I though she was choked up singing so hard to tell. I was on the fence, and the judges put her through.

13) Colonn- he sings and original song, strange tone and imperfect vocal. I would pass but the judges put him through.

14) Michael- The Guy from England. Sings a KC Song. He can flat out sing, and sang with great emotion. Has top 10 potential in my opinion.

moving was rough. we moved must stuff ourselves and had the movers move the heavier boxes and all the bigger furniture. had a mishap on the way, but i cant/better now post about it, lol.. they set some of our boxes down sideways or upside down (when the rule is to tape the bottom the most, for support, assuming they keep things upright.. then unpacking. we could hardly walk after all that, lol.

the hubby was THRILLED to go back to work, where he can recover. haha.

My Take on Last Night's Show

1) Max- A male country singer, his style is a little bit all over the place. He can sing okay, but don't love his style. He seems like he has a lack of confidence. I'm on the fence, but the judges liked it and put him through.

2) Laela- Now max plays guitar for his sister, not a perfect vocal and a little pitchy. Has some of the bad habits Max had with his style in my opinion. I was on the fence with her as well, but the judges put her through as well.

3) Scarlett- The girl from London, didn't love the song choice. She can flat out sing though. A little overdone in parts, but easily correctable. She is a no brainer for me at this point and the Judges put her through.

4) Donahue- A Music Teacher, I hope he plays guitar better than he sings. He was awful thankfully the judges didn't put him through.

5) Nick- Comes in and can sing, but does have a bit of a strange tone. He spends little too much time in his falsetto. However he should go through at this point, and the judges put him through.

6) Jennifer- The youngest daughter of 9. She is a country/folk singer. And she cannot sing, sings flat, and could suck the energy out of the room with the best of them. Easy pass for me, she sings like she is in agony or something. And the judges for some reason that isn't clear to me think her voice is unique, unique doesn't mean good guys. I'm stunned they put her though.

7)Kimi- Mom has MS sang his first song decent, a little mechanical, but good. Lacking confidence though. They wanted him to sing a second song, wasn't nearly as good as the first. Then they needed him to sing a third song. Can't say I understood it. Anyways I would put him through based on the first song, although he does need some work. The judges put him through.

8) Aniston- The tractor driver. She's a country singer with a good original song. She can sing, maybe a little whiney. Although the song writing at least on that song was solid. I would easily put her through and the judges did.

9) Avery- The guy who scares LR, his singing was not for me to say the least. Assuming judges didn't put him through.

10) Madai- Broadway singer, put a show on it (Character like voice) like she was acting. Singing a brutal vocal on a KP Song. Then they have her sing HB and it is much better. Then I came to the conclusion she can sing a little, but has such bad habits and seems more interested on putting on a show, rather than putting a real, and good performance. I would have passed because I doubt, she fixes those bad habits, she could prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

11) CJ- The bus guy. The judges ask him to sing a song he just started writing the day before. I thought he sang very well especially for a song he came in that he didn't plan to sing and wasn't a finished product. Obvious no brainer for me, and the judges put him through.

12) Kyra- Stay at home mom. Tried to make it 5 times to get through before this. Seems like she can sing, not a perfect vocal. But good nonetheless. Should go through in my opinion, and the judges put her through.

13) Will- Sings and original song. Good tone and can flat out sing. Has top 10 potential in my opinion. he was really good. Obviously should go through, and the judges put him through.

Anyways that is my take. All is just my opinion of course.

My Take on sunday's show

Hailey- First girl sang a KP song, did a very good job on it in my opinion. She can flat out sing, and didn’t totally copy KP either, which is a plus. Top 10 potential in my opinion.

Dawson- The dad at 17 country singer, I didn’t love his tone and that in lies the problem. Didn’t like the lackluster way he sings as well. I would pass. They ask him to sing a second song, and he wasn’t very good again. The judges put him through though.

Nya- A Broadway singer who started showing her laughing constantly before the audition. It was all over the place, and pitchy as could be. It is an easy pass for me, yet the judges loved her for some reason. My ears didn’t.

Cole Scott- A circus Performer, wasn’t a serious audition in my mind. Wasn’t as bad as you think if you were making some kind of nuts or peanut butter commercial. But as for this show another pass, and considering there was no vote I assumed they passed.

Roman- Sang a SW Song. To scratchy of a voice for me, sounds like he has a sore throat, and not in a good way like he will lose his voice in a hurry. Too many runs for me. Didn’t love it. Would have passed, but the judges put him through.

Noah- Now the singing barber. Singing a RF Song. Overall Sang very well, with a good tone and good control, although seems like could use a little more confidence. No brainer yes for me at this point. If he gets more confident, I see a scenario where he could have top 10 potential.

Emma- Granddaughter of a country legend. I believe her vocal wasn’t very good, and I’m being nice. They put her though, I would have passed.

Ziggy- Guy with blue and pink hair. Sang a LG song his vocal was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than I expected it too be. Not sure America will see his style of singing as an Idol But to be fair he sang decent enough so I would have had a mild yes, judges put him through. I admit my low level of expectation might of clouded my judgement with the yes, because I expected so much worse.

Justice- Confident decent singer and decent voice. Maybe a little overdone on some notes, and a little over the top hand movement when she is singing. But those can be corrected. Overall, easily good enough to get through at this point, and she did get through.

Kainbridge- The girl with the thyroid disease. Not a perfect vocal, but sang well enough to get through at this point. Sings with emotions so that is a plus. Should go through and she did.

Jon-Might be one of the craziest auditions I have ever seen. One word to describe the audition. Manic. Obviously shouldn’t go through.

Abby- Come in with a friend who can play the piano for her. More on him in a minute. She sang well, although she cuts her notes off too soon in my opinion. Didn’t really feel anything when she sings like she was going through the motions or something. So, I wonder if her good voice will be enough in the long-run. But good enough for now, and they put her though.

Sam- Came in with Abby, sang an original song and did okay. Not perfect, but probably a yes for me and the judges put him through.

Abby- Sang Decent, she was far from perfect. But it was emotional, so that is a plus. I would put her through easily. But the judge’s response of positive was over the top with the platinum ticket, and they acted like she was the best singer they ever heard or something. Don’t get me wrong she has talent, just not near the hype the judges were putting out in my opinion.

All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.

Ms. Emmy (Lorreta Lynns grand daughter) was awful and depressing with her mousy sad song about not wanting to eat. yup, thats just the idol confused American kids need right now, lol .. i was really hoping i would like her.

the guy that sang shout, i liked him but i assume he didnt get through.

abby- was good but whats up with the odd eyebrows, lol. and her piano man got put through. i didnt like him but do like his attitude, but its not called “American attitude” lol

abby/abi? (sp?) another sad sappy song but was ok

Oh my Gosh, what the hell was “ziggy”?? gay, faking gay, clown? either way, he is very mentally unstable. they put him through for the freak factor. sad to see that. kids now days, little kids, will look up to all these crazies they put through.

(ms) KB- ok, so you want to push a very mentally unstable young lady who threatens suicide one minute and is fake ok the next? yup, they did, they pushed her through, another bad message to little kids that look up to these so-called idols.

i didnt like this show, but at least a couple of good singers got put through.

yes, i loved the first singer. he needs to tone down the fake vibrato a bit though, but he has the look, etc.

the 2nd boy, who is an American Indian, its a NO from me (for the voice) but he got through.

then a “blur” of people get put through, they kind of fast forwarded that part.

The lady, named Kennedy, the mortician, said shes 23? no way.. looked about 50, she even said it as if no one would believe her.. anyway, she goes through.

next.. Meggie - Meh, but goes through

the Pakistani guy.. he was good, sounds like a man from Va, who got shot to fame recently, Oliver Anthony ( google and youtube him), sounds much like that. not sure if he was copying him? very similar and unusual style.

the crying football player.. has a sappy girly voice but goes through.

jack, from dallas- you hated him.. i hated the faces, but liked his voice. its like a dirty house that you look at to buy, you look past the dirt and see its possible future.. if they tone that down, he may be ok. i was actually surprised they said no and pleased when the cast voted him in. so, thats interesting about you and me, and our thoughts.

ok, now, let’s talk about the adopted lady.. i usually fast forward all that stuff, but omg, it was special in so many levels. i even cried, yes,, i did.. lol. she said she is 25 but looked 40. not sure whats going on with people looking older in some cases so far this year? the mic (quality) was horrible but she did great. too sappy though.

it was cool how they dubbed her mom’s voice and video over her walking out at the end of the show. it reminds me of my mom’s album and other songs still on tape (now on cd and on line to hear),, i will listen and feel like im there with her to this day. so, that part really hit home when she sang her mom’s song on the piano. my mom did a couple of her own songs (written by her) and i still play them time to time on the piano and sing them..

when i was a kid, i would play it on the piano and sing them to her and she loved it. anyway, there ya go.

I finally got around to sunday's episode today, finished about less than an hour ago. Didn't really take notes at this point, as once it get to hollywood, I get more interested. The things I remember The guy who started the show in my opinion he was the best of the bunch. There were several that were solid, but each of them had something that gave me pause whether they were top 10 material.

That Bunch consisted of the Girl that finished out the show, I wonder if her type of voice will hold up over a competion that voice sometimes gives out over strain.The girl that Sang a SW song, like I never heard it before, she can flat out sing, now whether she would have problems getting votes with her Jazzy/broadway style would be the concern for her to be top 10 material. The former football player, not sure everyone is gonna buy into his tone, I thought he was solid, and he may be limited to like emotional ballads with his voice, because I like his voice, I just don't know how big of window his song selection will be for him to be really good. The air port security guy has a nice tone for a soul singer, but like alot of soul singer can tend to put too many runs sometimes and that can take away from a performance eventhough he can sing. The guy from Brooklyn, who can sing, one of my favorite current song right now, obviously a bit raw, but does have potential.

The one person I was stunned with they put through was the guy with the original song. Originally he was out, and than they called him back in and put him through. His singing wasn't good, and seemed like put on, his song wasnt great either, but he might make the worst facial expressions while singing I have ever seen. Yes he is that bad. Can't believe he went through and have no clue if it is that fixable with what he was doing, I guess we will findout, but man those were some facial expressions. Well that what I have for last weeks show. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.

This was the toughest competition I've seen on Idol for sure lol! I'm thinking several will have some nice contracts ahead of them.
