Nature of the Companys Business
The nature of UEEC’s main business is to commercialize environmentally-friendly technologies. UEEC’s activities are oriented towards sustainable development which is highly appropriate considering that we have entered an era where clean energy and environment will most likely remain major issues. Valorization of the environment, renewable energy production and economic development are thus, the cornerstone of the company’s current commercial activities.
Mission Statement
UEEC provides municipalities, governments, companies, institutions and other organizations with a new way to eliminate waste efficiently and produce clean energy without polluting. The Waste-to-Energy power plants to be commercialized by UEEC are thus a key solution to a pollution-free environment.
Philosophy of Business
UEEC’s philosophy of business is to be a force of change in the de-pollution of the environment and in the production of clean, renewable energy.
Corporate Objectives
The Company’s commercial activities will be oriented towards renewable energy production, valorization of the environment, economic development and most of all, sustainable development. Heading towards a promising future, UEEC will base its main business on the commercialization of Waste-to-Energy power plants, in which case UEEC is to sell the ecological power plants in North America, Central America and South America.
On another level, while focusing on carrying out its commercial activities, the Company will contemplate a) increasing the size of its technological portfolio through acquisition of environmentally friendly technologies for commercialization purposes; b) undertaking technological development projects (R&D) to improve the products it will commercialize; c) undertaking ad hoc projects mainly related to energy and environment sectors.
INDUSTRY
The very nature of the Waste-to-Energy power plants allows the Company to target two industries: waste management and energy production.
Waste Management
Adequate and efficient management of organic waste is in the process of becoming a priority worldwide. Pollution caused by land-filling, by incineration of waste, and by forestry and agricultural residues, contaminates the air and underground waters essential to the survival of all living species. Although environmental regulations may have indeed become more strict over the years, elimination of waste remains a major contemporary environmental issue and will do so in years to come as the amount of waste is expected to keep on increasing. This issue clearly needs to be addressed as soon as possible in order to prevent a bad situation from becoming worse.
Energy Production
Today, economic development of nations worldwide remains largely dependent on energy produced by fossil fuels that have polluted extensively throughout the years. This situation, along with the fluctuations of the price of crude oil, the prospect of depletion of fossil fuels and the increasing population growth, are forcing governmental authorities to look for new ways to eliminate waste efficiently and produce clean energy.
COMPANY PROJECTS
Commerialization of Waste-To-Energy Power Plants
UEEC has an option to acquire and is in the process of acquiring a license granting it the right to commercialize WTE power plants in the Americas. These power plants are the product of a technologically-advanced process set to achieve outstanding environmental and economic performances.
The WTE power plant is a technologically-advanced solution. It is innovative and very unique as it turns waste — a highly polluting material — into renewable energy: electricity, synthetic biogas and steam. The elimination of waste is achieved through the gasification process bearing the US Patent no.6,119,607. This gasification technology is used in the power plant to transform organic waste into green energy. It is a process that converts organic materials into combustible gas through a thermal process rigorously controlled in terms of the temperature, the pressure and the atmospheric conditions. This technology is known to the Company as the only technology able to completely eliminate organic waste while keeping GHG emissions at 25 ppm, a level lower than what is prescribed in the Kyoto Protocol.
This WTE power plant may be custom built to meet customer specifications. For the WTE power plant to attain maximum efficiency, data on the availability and composition of the waste must be collected in order to determine the calorific value of the waste since the quality and quantity of waste have a direct impact on the performance of the power plant.
