Why yes! Of course! It could not have been any worse.... so you pick out a short term chart showing that once the street knew he was gone, it was time to buy the stock. Ballmer was named CEO in 2000. Look at their stock chart between 2000 and the time he announced he would retire.

And then your chart showing how people perceive the company since.

Ballmer not only destroyed the company but also wealth.

So at the end, he leaves us with Windows 8 and Nokia.

And a dying Office division that has been their money maker.

Sad.

This new cat seems to have at least 10s the brain power than Ballmer. I do wish him luck. We all could use a more customer focused strategy. I mean Word is dying, Excel has its place. I use my Ipad more than my desktop now. There is a titanic shift away from Windows 8. Too bad the leadership at Microsoft are the last ones to figure that out.

Next time you are on a plane, coffee shop or where ever, look to see what people are using. Ipads and Samsung tablets..... Ask those very same people what they think of Windows 8.

And it amazes me that Microsoft doesn't get it.

That my friends is called 'leadership failure'.

Business schools need to make a course about "how to destroy one of the worlds most profitable companies" because this is one of the most under reported cases I have seen in all my years.
