2014 Opening Series

The 2014 Opening Series Games featuring Major League Baseball’s National League West rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks, will be Major League Baseball’s first regular season games ever to be staged in Australia.

The Sydney Cricket Ground will play host to the MLB franchises and will be transformed into a Major League Baseball field with the construction of an infield clay area, a pitcher’s mound, and Major League Baseball dugouts for the players and coaches.

The Opening Series Games will take place on Saturday, March 22nd and Sunday, March 23rd, and will be a once-in-a-lifetime event for the whole family to enjoy. American baseball food will be served throughout the grounds and entertainment for the entire family will take place during the games.

The Dodgers and Diamondbacks have a fierce rivalry in the National League West division, and this is the first time the two teams have met since the Dodgers played them in 2013 when clinching a playoff spot prior to becoming National League West Champions.

The Dodgers and Diamondbacks have to get past each other this season in order to have any chance at a World Series Championship.
