1854 Supplemental

Build 1854 migrated thinkorswim to Java 7. For those of you that ran in to trouble, this set of supplementary release notes may be useful. As always we are here to help, so if your problem is not answered here, please email us at support@thinkorswim.com or call us at 1-866-839-1100.

Build 1854 is a large release and may take longer then normal to update. Please be patient as the download time is dependent on the bandwidth available.

If you are using a Mac computer and receiving "Unable to Update JRE"...

If you have a Mac, are running Mac OS 10.7.3 or higher, and you are receiving a message that says “Unable to update JRE, ” please try to uninstall and reinstall the thinkorswim platform.

Here are instructions on how to do so while keeping your saved layouts and configurations:
1.Open Finder, click on Applications and then double click on the thinkorswim or thinkTDA
2.Select any files that start with "workspace", and the file folder titled “Backup”.
3.Once all of those files are highlighted/selected, right click and select “New folder with Selection”.
4.A folder titled “New Folder with Items” will appear, move that folder to your desktop.
5.Once that folder has been moved to your desktop, you may now delete the original thinkorswim folder.
6.In a web browser, navigate to: https://mediaserver.thinkorswim.com/installer/install.html
7.Click on Install thinkDesktop
8.Select RUN (or save and open after saving) and follow the prompts to reinstall the software.
9.Once thinkorswim has been reinstalled, you may then place the files found in the folder that is on your desktop (New Folder with items) into the new thinkorswim folder.

Other Items You May Have Noticed
•DDE linking between thinkorswim and Microsoft Excel does not work since the update on Saturday, we are working on it!
•The MyTrade page is not loading fully, for now please use this link https://mytrade.com
•In the Analyze tab choosing "Hide Positions" in Positions and Simulated Trades causes the Expiration line in the Risk Profile chart to be removed, we are fixing this however, as a workaround, choose "Show All" and then uncheck the positions that you do not want to analyze.
•If the font size within the platform has reset back to Small, logout and make the necessary adjustment by clicking on the "Configure" button on the bottom right corner of the logon screen.
•Some Mac OS X users are unable to seamlessly close the platform. While we prepare a fix please use force quit to close the application (command+option+escape).
