For those following the possibility that the Discovery Channel's Gold Rush show is currently filming in Chile at JJ's (and possibly Medinah's) Jota property, here is an interesting interview posted on Discovery's Gold Rush blog yesterday with the show's producer Christo Doyle called "Straight From the Horse’s Mouth" where he comments on where Todd Hoffman currently is.

http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/gold-rush/gold-rush-live-blog.htm

Interviewer: "I've noticed that your Twitter arch-nemesis Todd has been absent from the Twitter scene. Where is Todd?"

Christo Doyle: "I've kind of enjoyed it. He's not texting or e-mailing or tweeting as much. And there's a reason for that. He's in an undisclosed location working on a mission for us I would say. And we'll announce live where he is and what he's been doing. And it's pretty cool...very cool stuff. I think that's probably my biggest thing I'm most excited about announcing."

Some things to speculatvely consider:

1) Medinah previously announced on 12/14/2012 that they were "entertaining the acquisition of a 20% interest in the Jota claims, scheduled to be featured on the Discovery Channel in the later part of January 2013."

2) It was reported that JJ was away for a week or so in late January/early February filming for the Discovery Channel at the Jota property.

3) Tweets and Facebook updates from Todd Hoffman and Dave Turin from the past 2 weeks confirmed that they were away on a secret mission looking for gold "a long way from home" and in a Spanish speaking country.

4) Discovery Channel has neither confirmed or denied publicly anything regarding the Hoffman crew's whereabouts or confirmed or denied that they are filming at the Jota property as reported by Medinah. We only know that it is has been described as a "secret mission"...which is why we haven't yet had the possibility of them filming at the Jota property confirmed by the Discovery Channel. However, this will be revealed live at the Gold Rush Season 3 finale airing February 22nd.

5) We know that JJ and American Sierra Gold (AMNP), the Medinah Gold spinoff, are part owners in the Jota property. We know the MDMN BOD has been entertaining taking a 20% ownership position in the Jota property. It was reported that MDMN does now own some of the Jota, though that has not been confirmed publicly by the company yet and as such I treat it merely as rumor at this point...though the company's interest has been made clear publicly.

I guess we'll have to tune in on February 22nd to find out.
