Thoughts on Elissa and Molycorp and a public reply to a private message. Sorry, I haven't joined yet, so am not able to make a private reply to the missive received.

Unfortunately I am not the author of the the piece on Elissa in the Gold Report link.

But I will confess to talking on the phone a couple of weeks ago with someone VERY HIGHLY placed at Elissa, who was very interesting to talk to, and who said, and I am paraphrasing here, that the 2nd round of exploratory drilling at the Nevada site might not occur in 2013, and my inference from the totality of the call was that they are playing their cards very close to the vest, sitting on the cash and biding their time, AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT ENTERTAIN ANY QUICK OFFERS AT THIS POINT. This is what I read into the call and others might differ if they had been listening in on the line.

The other projects they have were mentioned but it was obvious to me that THOR REE was their primary focus. Unless I was being misdirected, which is possible.

A little about me. Yes, I am a blogger known as Morongobill on the net. For a long time I blogged as a desert activist against most of the renewable energy projects planned for the Mojave Desert; in particular, against BrightSource Energy's Ivanpah SEGS. but knowing the region's history and having explored some of the old abandoned mines there, I never opposed mining in the region, unless it was especially egregious in scope and environmental destruction.

For example, I happen to like the Elissa THOR REE project and have actually visited the area, and saw that it has long been mined. The fact that it is about 16 miles across the valley from Mountain Pass and Molycorp is a nice bonus. And we already have all read the McKenzie interview where he stated Molycorp is the ideal buyer or words to that effect. Just don't expect it to happen right away; after all Molycorp may be locked in a takeover struggle soon if the analysts are right.

Since this is a stock forum, I will say this. I would be long MCP,
UURAF,ELI, and NMREF if I had some excess play money at this time.
