Nightly Topic Post. What is a "Paint Job"? Many times on the Boards you will see the phrasing in posts especially near the Close wherein one Posts such a comment. What does it mean? Lets say a Penny was up for the day and in the last 10 minutes it retreated back into negative territory. Right near the end you may see a very small trade go thru of literally a couple cents worth (commission is much higher than the amount invested) and that is done to just throw a trade in there in the last seconds to make the stock close in the Green in an effort to make it appear to have closed Green to lure others into the stock in the AM.

Perfect example was today with APRU (which I am in). The Bid was 0001 and the ask was 0002 after closing yesterday at 0001. This AM a trade of 170 shares went thru (3 cents worth) @ 0002 but that was a "Paint job" to get the pps to show a gain of 100% to try and attract others into it.

"Paint Jobs" can be done both on the early AM trading as they can near the close. Hope this helps some out.
