Karyn's Driver!!

Thank you, my friend. Where Karyn tees off, as most of us golfers should, is based on her skill level. For her it is from the red tee markers. I tee off from either the gold or blue, depending on who I am playing with that day. As most of us know, golf courses have several tee boxes, indicated by different colored markers, e.g., gold, blue, white, red and silver. Trivia: the colored tee box markers are not determined based on gender, but on skill level, i.e., handicap. While this system generally aligns itself with gender, it is not a given. For example, a man with a high handicap should tee off from the red tee markers, not the white, blue or gold. And, yes, you're absolutely right. Pride will keep most men from teeing off from the red markers. It's a man thing. But when a man with a high handicap tees off from the wrong tee box, slow play results for everyone in his group and all groups behind him.

Re: birthday present. Karyn's birthday is in September. See, this is how it works. You get half a point for remembering your wife's birthday, and another half a point for giving her a gift. You lose a whole point for giving a gift that suggests you don't listen to her. BUT, to give your lady a present three months before her birthday just because you thought of her. Well, that elevates you to a whole different level. And I'm there now wink

What's this got to do with Liquidmetal? Eventually, I plan to outfit Karyn with an entire set of Liquidmetal golf clubs, as I did for me. It's just a matter of checking eBay from time to time.

I will have to say that I can tell a profound difference in my Liquidmetal driver and all others I have played with (and I've played with a lot). I am only 5' 6" short and weigh 153 lbs. And on a number of occasions (from South Korea to the U.S.) people have walked by and stopped to watch me hit balls with the Liquidmetal driver over the back fence of driving ranges--about a 250-yard carry. The irons are about a club and a half longer (in hitting distance) than my Nike Pro Forged Combo irons. Why would I want to go back hitting short again? Duh!

I am hoping for the day if/when Liquidmetal introduces a pro set of irons. The pros would not play the original set because they had large cavity back heads. Pros like the smaller blades, so they can work the ball better. This was the problem with marketing the Liquidmetal irons. The pros wouldn't use them, and they were too expensive for the amateur to buy IF pros didn't use them. Introduce a pro set, however, and this could change drastically. And, I told Steipp that I would evaluate prototypes--for free! He needs me in marketing!!!
