Now on this topic I agree with you. IMO hundreds if not thousands of companies are not going to create safe driving apps. This is specialized development skills and costly to build.
The bigger question is what government or Insurance Association or other entity will screen and certify products to meet the current laws at the time and have ability and flexibility to support changes in the laws.
No one product will win out to be the only App that can be used.
There is room for many apps and there is not a company I am aware of that today could handle all sectors that need an app and could support the markets today.
There will probably be consolidation of safe driving companies and acquisitions for larger Companies will want in this well publicized space.
To the other gentleman I agree that Companies will purchase source code licenses so they have control of the server and communication directly and securely to their drivers.
I will say again and again IMO it will be Insurance Companies that end up ruling this space for they insure all the drivers and carry most of the financial risk. IMO
