You'll have to make a decision on the risk on your own but when I speak with someone about this I suggest that they never do anything that will keep them awake at night, from enjoying the time they have with family and friends and that it will never be too late to buy, if this works.
True, you might be buying in the teens, 20's or 30's but if this works those are all insignificant numbers. GL
