Your question stands as THE QUESTION to be asked, and then answered. Sadly, it will never be answered, not in this life, and probably not in the next. The trade at 13 is inexplicable for sure.

FWIW, schizoid means having schizophrenic tendencies. Since schizophrenic really applies to people (usually) I chose schizoid as being the better word for "trading activity" since trading activity is not a human thing.

Back to your question, and I think the answer could be here: What is the nature of the M.M. world? Why and how do they do what they do? Their world is 50% opaque, and since we cannot know on whose behalf they are trading, and since only the M.M.s can see all trades on their board, these are mysteries that will remain mysteries to common decent folk like you and me.

I keep this in mind when I see M.M. shenanigans: Market Makers are allowed, by rule and by custom, to be naked short when necessary to do their Market Making. Few others have such privilege.

I believe, that naked shorting can explain some of the unexplainable, if we only could see behind the curtain. Thue the 13 buy could have been a special M.M. action to cover a previous naked sale.
