United Financial Bancorp, Inc. serves as the holding company for United Bank (the Bank). The Bank's principal business consists of attracting retail deposits from the general public in the areas surrounding its main office in West Springfield, Massachusetts, and its 16 branch offices located in Springfield Region and six branches in the Worcester Region and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations, in one- to four-family residential mortgage loans, as well as in home equity loans and lines of credit, commercial real estate loans, construction loans, commercial and industrial loans, automobile loans, other consumer loans and investment securities. It originates loans almost for investment. Its revenues are derived from interest on loans and securities. The Bank also generates revenues from fees and service charges and other income. Its primary sources of funds are deposits, borrowings and principal and interest payments on loans and securities.
