The Tongzhi Translated
The document from the TTAVC, which in a sense got the ball really rolling for CCME, is on the Company's website in Chinese only. We have seen a few words translated and some posters have summarized its contents, but until now I for one had not seen the entire document translated. I asked a friend to do that for me, and here is what he provided:

Announcement for the Free Installation of Bus Television System in Order to Regulate Highway Bus Broadcasting with a Healthy Cultural Environment
To all provinces, autonomous regions, direct-controlled municipalities, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and all offices and transportation companies under the ministry:
To carry out the decisions from the National Transportation Conference and <<Transport Healthy Cultural Environment Implementation Outlines>> and set up a unified and standard for cultural environment on highway buses and implement the bus “broadcasting program anti-counterfeit project” and welcome 2008 Olympic Game with a brand new image, our center proposes to build a nationwide Highway Bus Television Broadcasting System.
The purpose of the Highway Bus Television Broadcasting System is to broadcast healthy and educational licensed television programs to improve passengers’ travel experiences and regulate highway entertainment market. The Bus Television Broadcasting System will be used to broadcast positive and health programs to publicize government policies and socialism accomplishments, while reduce the operational cost of transportation companies.
For every Highway Bus Television Broadcasting System participating bus, the Center will provide the free installation of patented broadcasting equipments with an automated control system. The system patent number is: ZL 2005 2007 37527 and was awarded the first prize for “Science and Technology Improvement” and the second prize for “Science and Technology Innovation” by the National Science and Technology Improvement Award Committee. The system can be directly connected to the television and stereo system on the bus. They will be no need to rewire the bus and will have no affect on the safety of bus operation. It will broadcast entertainment program and advertisement alternatively with a fresh and stable broadcasting channel.
Transport Television Video and Audio Center appoints Fuzhou Fenzhong as its sole strategic partner. Every related party and office should corporate the implement of the program.

I am too tired to extrapolate from this all the ways that this document confirms what CCME has told us, and contradicts what the bashers have been saying. I found these words very reassuring and wanted you to see them right away. I will post them again over the weekend so that our weekend warriors will have something to cheer.
