Press Release

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2001--Symphony Telecom Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Symphony Telecom International Inc. (OTCBB:SYMY - news), today announced that it has signed a five-year contract with CallManage Inc., to provide long distance, Internet, cellular and unified billing services to the customers of several hydroelectric companies in Ontario and Quebec.

Over the next five years, the contract is expected to expand Symphony's customer base to over 800,000 and add an estimated $400 million to gross revenues.

In keeping with the latest deregulation developments in the electric power industry, a consortium of hydro companies will offer their customers a package of telemetering and telecommunication services, made possible by new, in-home technology. The services include, but are not limited to, automatic meter reading, home security, local, long distance and cellular telephone service, high-speed dial-up Internet and unified billing.

``Symphony's `total telecom' concept took an evolutionary leap today,'' said Gilles A. Trahan, Chairman, CEO of Symphony Telecom. ``This contract with CallManage Inc. will provide a solid base on which to build our Integrated Communications Provider (ICP) business,'' he said. ``It will also provide a platform for similar agreements with other electric power companies in Canada and the USA.''

``Electric companies are changing their focus, expanding their field of vision to include telemetering and telecommunications services'' added Joseph Cline, CEO of CallManage Inc. ``With the right technology and the right partners, they can tap a multi-million dollar opportunity, while improving customer service levels. The expertise and capabilities of Symphony Telecom and marketing strength of CallManage combined with the credibility of the electric utility, make a very impressive competitor,'' he said.
