Steel Dynamics to acquire steel joist manufacturing operations of Commercial Metals Company Deal In Brief


Sep 28, 2010 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Steel
Dynamics, Inc. (SDI), a producer of carbon steel products, has agreed to acquire
certain facilities and assets of steel-joist manufacturing operations from
Commercial Metals Company (CMC), a manufacturer of steel and metal products, for
a consideration of $17 million. Both the companies are based in the US.

The acquisition include three joist-manufacturing plants located at Hope,
Arkansas; Fallon, Nevada; and Juarez, Mexico.

These assets will become a part of SDI's wholly-owned subsidiary, New Millennium
Building Systems.

The transaction is expected to be close on or about October 30, 2010.
