Regarding dates:

I just got back from a trip I made to town.

I realize column's R through U have no dates. The dates belong in column number 5, which is E. Why column E? Because it is the leftmost column of all other historical columnized data. Being a reference for all date-related inputs and calculations, the date column should be to the left of all other columns which reference those dates as that makes their formulas easier to understand (as all Offset calculations are at least in the same direction, and there are a lot of Offset equations you will write).

I believe that within a recent post I suggested that you import dates to the SR_CP sheet (column E) from a data sheet that you plan on always having. And I recall suggesting that data should be from $SPX (which Yahoo calls ^GSPC). That symbol tracks the whole market, not just a few sectors within the market.

In fact, you should also download data from any sector ETF which reflects a stock you may be trading; for instance, download data for ^SOX (or SMH) if you are trading any stock within the semiconductor sector. You should always want to know how your chosen stock is doing within its sector and also how it is doing relative to the whole market.

Those two suggestions above are important.

Considering the above suggestions, you should always have three symbols to track: Stock, that stock's Sector, and the Whole Market.

So, as I already suggested, use $SPX to track the whole market, and use that as your source for dates. Read those dates into Column# 5 (which is column "E") of the SR_CP sheet.

You wrote, "=sum(AAL!A29)".

Sorry to say this, but you have a lot to learn. But given the desire, learning is easy.

Try this out instead: "=(AAL!A29)". Your formula is summing something with nothing.

Don't worry about what others may think when you ask a question. Leave the worrying to those who refuse to ask.
