Institutional ownership percentage took a drop today.
No way to know that within any degree of certainty. Clearly IDCC is under institutional accumulation. When an institution wants to sell a large position the first place they look for buyers are other institutions so that the trade can be executed with the least price disruption and as quickly as possible. Moreover, a sale of this magnitude can often be a catalyst for transfer of ownership of retail shares to institutions along with the movement of the shares from Mazama to other institutions. There is just as much chance that institutional ownership remained the same or increased as there is that it decreased. (Check out the new position for American Century right above the Mazama position .. wouldn't be surprised at all to find that the American Century picked up all of their shares by being on the other side of some Mazama sales.)
