I had a thought today.

With the world increasingly reliant on wireless for many applications, the time will come when the world simply runs out of spectrum (as we know it). A R&D IP company that can either: (1) Divide up existing spectrum into more usable channels, or (2) Increase spectrum range (as we know it today) will hold valuable patents / intellectual property indeed.

I assume that IDCC is a top pick for these possibilities? Do any of you folks have any other names (besides Qualcomm and old dogs / enemies like Nokia)?
