I get rebuilding but the idea is when you rebuild and trade away your veterans players you are suppose to get prospects, not give money and get nothing to help the team in the future there is no way to spin this that ownership crew did a great injustice to his team, their fans, and anyone who wasn't a yankee fan for the fairness of baseball. It is a joke what they did. Plain and simple.

if I was a M fan I'd be pissed---in the short term

They got nothing. Except a salary dump. if I was an Marlins fan I would be pissed in the long-term, because they are never gonna commit to winning. They trade players away and make dumb trade. Stanton has and opt out after 3 year, he was likely opting out. You keep him and let him opt out in three years. You don't trade him for a bag of ball and pay 35-40% of his salary if he opts out that is dumb. Plain and simple.
