I did attend Dr. Wolchok’s presentation yesterday in Baltimore. He greeted me as soon as I walked in the door near where he was standing(chatting with the lady from JHU who would later introduce him to the assembled ~ 200 person audience) and said “Glad to see you here”. A few more moments of small talk, I sat down, he was introduced, and his power-point presentation began.

From the introduction(attendees were invited to hear Dr. Wolchok again at 8 am this morning), Dr. W’s own lecture that he did not want to duplicate then his prepared talk this morning dealing with various historical and current aspects of combination therapy in immunology), and the historical nature of his slides and comments, I quickly realized that yesterday’s talk was mostly what Wook, eb0, my wife and I had seen and heard last year at Wistar, 12/07/2016. I found myself wishing I could have traveled to Baltimore today to see and hear his presentation at 8 am. Indeed, Dr. Wolchok invited me to attend when I expressed that wish to him—he in jest said that the early morning hour was likely normal for most JHU members that attended yesterday.

I will relate more later anent an exception or 2 to what I said above. I also managed to ask a few questions that he answered before he was escorted from the auditorium for a reception for him and attendees. I looked at my watch, and hurried to the JHU Hospital Outpatient Center to catch a taxi in time to board Amtrak to return to Washington. I missed the reception.
