A historic building gets a new coat of paint
The name Chaveta is Cuban for "roller's knife." It honors the rich history of cigar craftsman who populated the area back in the late 1800s and their descendants who still occupy the neighborhood today. Located on 7th Avenue in Historic Ybor City, this property is destined to be the next great space in South Florida. A combination of style and sophistication, this beautiful Art Deco building will celebrate the old-world history surrounding this robust neighborhood, one of only two National Historic Landmark Districts in the state of Florida. Chaveta will serve as an example of all that is culturally rich yet sleekly modern about Tampa today.
