They didn't have to. The source file included the short sales volume and the total volume....the poster simply provided the math (accurately, subject to rounding).

At 15% today's short sales volume was on the low side for this company historically speaking.
The share price was down $.03 or 4%.
No one on planet Earth has EVER connected any given day's reported short sales volume to the change in that day's share price.

I'd love for you and/or the daily chronicler of that data to fully explain that disconnect. Maybe FINRA’s Office of the Ombudsman could help.
