The big loss was a result of Selling and Marketing almost doubling in the quarter.

This is a very typical pattern for small consumer product companies like CELH. They spend heavily on marketing and promotions one quarter, get a sales bump the next and ramp down spending to get some marginal profitability from the prior heavy spend.

Rinse and repeat.

Inventories went up by about $1 million and some of that may be China, but they didn't spend over $2 million marketing in China where they have yet to launch major product.

9 months of 2017, sales are up over $10 million from 9 months 2016 BUT
losses are up $500k also.

When you think "there can't be that many people falling for this", remember the Bernie Madoff story and recall that over $50 BILLION of smart money fell for a great story.
