China being_urged to ease reliance on DRC_for_cobalt
Reuters reports that fast-talking Canadians and Australian lithium-miners/used-car-salesmen at an industry forum in Guangzhou China are pitching China to buy white and not to sign contracts on securing cobalt from black DRC Click here.

But China is between a rock and a hard place when they are looking out the windows from their hermetically sealed apartments in Beijing and see tons of smog polluting the air from all the increasing number of gas-burning cars on the roads. China is on a critical life saving race to get more electric cars/buses on the roads to replace the older fossil fuel burning cars before more citizens go sick with severe breathing disorders. And those new Chinese EVs need lithium plus cobalt... DRC cobalt is near, priced right, and should be easily available for 2018. If no other large country suffers such pressing emergencies with smog in their main cities forcing them to outlaw fossil fuel cars also (as China did) then maybe China could have the luxury of curtailing cobalt purchases in black DRC and wait for more-expensive longer lead-time cobalt from the Canadians and the Aussies.

But Oh nooooo Mr Bill. Indians in Delhi woke up to a choking deathly blanket of smog covering the city this morning. They will be restricting car traffic in the city tomorrow based on odd-even license plate numbers to reduce the smog... the chances of outlawing gas-burning cars in Delhi is going to increase dramatically now (like Beijing) which means the Indians will soon be clamoring for more cobalt to build EVs to preserve their air. Click here for smoggy story.

I'm afraid the choices are few for the next 3-4 years. Either more Indians sign up and agree to stop breathing... or DRC puts out more cobalt in order to meet this fast rising demand in China and next India where people now look to be dying for clean air to breathe also.
