The shares they own are preferred shares which convert to common. The preferred do not get split, so an RS is in their best interest. R/S to wipe out common and then convert at new, higher price when there is less retail. From a business perspective it is smart, but that also screws previous shareholders. Whether they do that or not, we dont know yet
