This is the problem with the settlement, IMO. MacQuarie learned that a sale was forthcoming and now they want a settlement discount.

The old seeking alpha story said that Syncora has a loss of $250MM on the books related to American Roads.

If Syncora gains $250MM on the sale is MacQuarie off the hook?

Likely not, time has passed and much work was completed. Work and time have value, however I am with Denny and $15MM to $30MM seems much more likely.


We are 14 months away from the $4.50/share requirement for the Syncora board to realize the bonus. Giddy up gents, you have work to do...
