Oct. 11--Giving little Rico the black kitten a bath turned out to be a lost cause. The little stinker was filthy this morning when he came out for breakfast. He has learned that he can't cross CC the Calico Cat, especially when she's eating. When she finishes she stalks off to sit under the shade of the RV. Then he can have the leftover food.
It was another hot one. I made myself weed the beds with the mattock hoe. More weeding needs to be done, though. I will finish up on Friday. The highs will drop to the low 80s, still way above the norm.
I picked mustard greens Tuesday, another full grocery bag today, and more on Thursday. Some collard leaves need gleaning.
I will plant more mustard green seed tomorrow. This heat wave has been incredible.
