Lion: It's not a bad thing that Ford is actually manufacturing higher quality vehicles compared to their US competitors. I had a 2000 Dodge Durango, never again will I buy a Dodge. I swear every other week I was holding a broken door handle, AC control knob, radio control knob, etc. something of the sorts in my hand because they simply fell off at the touch. I recently rode in a friend's new 2017 Dodge Ram and it felt as if the quality had not changed for Dodge in 17 years; plus they just had a recall on their pickups.

I do see your point though 11 years, now a days, is a long time to own a vehicle and with unemployment at a 16 year low I see people buying vehicles. Simple rule of Income Elasticity of Demand, as income increases so does demand for newer vehicles while old vehicles become inferior goods that people no longer want simply because their income is now higher they can now afford a newer "luxury" good such as a vehicle. There you have it :)

This is all in my opinon
