The superstitious fear of "frankenfoods" or GMO's or whatever nonsensical label is applied to bioengineered crops or livestock should be the real scandal. It strikes me as hilarious that the AquaBounty fish were sold without the required labeling however scandalous that foul lawbreaking might be.

All living things are evolving. Crops and livestock have been continually modified from the very first time they were planted with selection of seeds or cuttings from the best plants and the young of the best livestock selected for future propagation.

Somewhat mind-blowing to me are reports of Del Monte's GM red pineapple being sweeter than the old-fashioned yellow pineapple but it is essentially the same as red grapefruit. Grapefruit, like bananas, are already sterile cross breeds of two different species that can only be grown from cuttings.

The harm done by fanatics campaigning against scientific progress should be despised instead of idolized but the world is what it is.

I hope investors in AQB make a ton of money but I am too cowardly, having too many scars from investing in other frankenfoods.
