VelocityShares Daily 2x VIX ST ETN (TVIX)

Simple demo showing VIX, TVIX & COMPQ trending opposite or together. I checked coorelation and found 200 dma of TVIX coorelated with VIX is 66% and -75% for $COMPQ.....with other key indexes trailing off with lower coorelation. Interesting to see that TVIX coorelation falls to near zero or even reverses occasionally.

Bottom line as others have stated is that TVIX rises when VIX rises and markets fall. But its a "stretchy" relationship and hard to figure which instrument is the dog and which is the tail being wagged.
