Just now got off the phone with a long-time representative I've deal with for some years. According to him, high dollar sell orders WILL definitely prevent our shares from being used by shorts. Further, this applies equally to both sheltered accounts (IRAs) as well as non-sheltered (general) accounts.

This agrees with information I've gotten numerous times before so I trust it.

I also learned moments ago that brokerages can and will set their own parameters when it comes to establishing their own boundaries defining acceptable conditions. For this reason alone I would not put up with Fidelity imposing their rules on me, thereby encroaching on what I regard as my rights.

Good question, WSR--- it's always a good idea to revisit limits imposed upon us active investors/traders...one never knows when rule and limits change.
