catdaddyrt was also an originator of the dialog here and is the one of us still working at a regular job that requires most of his attention. We have similar investing interests in energy going back to the NTI board when it was one of just a few small refiner MLPs. CVRR and ALDW remain after NTI was plucked like low fruit with its vertical assets and healthy cash flow,... first by WNR, which was then swallowed by TSO, (now ANDV). jugs and cat sold all their NTI when they announced the takeover by WNR. I sold 2/3rds and held 1/3 hoping for a better price or class action relief, which never comes.

I was lucky to get a good price for the TSO shares and use the dry powder to add here. CVRR does not have connection to retail and is most hurt by the RIN's regulations, which takes a big toll on DCF. It remains to be seen how Icahn, as the main player there can improve its lot.

jugs brings good writing skills from his energy IR relations experience and has genuine desire to help others. He brings confidence here reminding us of his and our own self reliance in picking this company and details his bids and buys along with cost basis.

cat has skill picking undervalued stocks with calculated confidence and a preset plan for taking profits. He sticks to his plan and it works for him. I first got him to help moderate the NTI board when I wanted to improve the ibox and needed to learn how to add pics and information. His working with and investing in ALDW made it a good fit. Some of his followers posts on his Cat House board and all three of us have a music background by coincidence. So imo it grounds us and none of us take ourselves too seriously. We just enjoy what comes and have never met in person. Maybe one winter I will go down to Texas for a break and some great BBQ!
