why would some people try and help others out?

If you have all of your own information and have made a decision, there is no reason to.

If one believes they have all the answers, they should invest on that information. It is unclear the motives of many on message boards.

For most board posters, the motivation is to learn, understand, and get to the truth. And to get validation and confirming/opposing viewpoints along the way but all the while maintaining the truth throughout with no hyperbole, twisted facts, or opinions mixed in.

I'm afraid in the past few weeks we have gotten an increase in both truths and twisted truths.
