As hard as I try, I can't imagine why anyone having opinions like this wouldn't sell, long ago!

It makes no sense at all holding the stock of a company that you don't trust the board, strongly disagree with results of a shareholder vote, or trust management.

Holding in the face of those opinions will more times than not result in significant losses, as we saw in the case here.
