I've found that geopolitical events generally have a short term impact on the markets. That would change if there is an actual armed conflict with N. Korea because it would also involve China and it would be difficult to stop given the number of troops the North could send into the South. I do, however, think the US will respond to any provocation involving a missile fired near US territory. Kim Jung Un seems willing to test the limits since he has stated that they plan to fire a missile to hit 18 miles off the coast of Guam. That would be enough to elicit a US military response. And if the Chinese want a different response, they should do more to prevent Kim Jung Un. I do think Trump is doing the right thing...so far...even though he is being criticized for his rhetoric. The detractors only have one solution which is more of what has not worked in the past ... negotiations.
