It's probably dead money either way, but with the R/S they might have been able to get some toxic loans.

Probably just as well they didn't, that would only add more losses to the existing shareholders.

When you think "there can't be that many people falling for this", remember the Bernie Madoff story and recall that over $50 BILLION of smart money fell for a great story.
