Black Lives Matter cost University of Missouri millions

College campuses have long been ruled by big government-loving socialists.

When Donald Trump announced his candidacy, these institutions became the epicenter of anti-Trump protests.
But now, one major university is facing the consequences, and it comes with a hefty price tag.

The University of Missouri made national headlines in 2015 when the campus erupted in Black Lives Matter protests.

Now, reports show that freshman enrollment dropped 23% from 2015 to 2016.

It just dropped another 16% for the coming 2017 fall term and overall enrollment at the Columbia campus is at its lowest in nearly a decade.

Some reports estimate the drop in enrollment could cost the school as much as $14.5 million.

The Kansas City Star reports:

The University of Missouri expects to cut 400 positions, possibly including nearly 100 layoffs, to manage significant losses in state revenue and tuition dollars.

At a campus forum Monday, Interim Chancellor Garnett Stokes told faculty, students and staff that absorbing the largest cuts to the university budget in recent memory will mean jobs will be lost.

Ouch.

The campus has lost all credibility as a place for higher learning.

Instead, the image of the campus is embodied by now-fired professor, Melissa Click, who threatened a student journalist who was trying to cover the prostests.

During the 2015 Black Lives Matter protests, one student started a hunger strike calling for the resignation of school president, Tim Wolfe.

Dozens of football players threatened to boycott future games.

But reports of Ku Klux Klan members on campus and a swastika drawn in feces in a residence hall were debunked.

And all this has cost Missouri’s flagship university tuition dollars and their reputation.

The Kansas City Star also reports:

“This is the worst enrollment performance of any flagship university in the country. That cannot continue,” Republican Gov. Eric Greitens said in a statement last week. “The University of Missouri has lacked strong leadership for far too long.”
