Today i have posted 6 verses of many in the Bible about turning away from sin. And why is that?...id like for people to take the time to read these verses and really let them sink into your heart and mind. Today we hear people that like to say..."i am saved by Gods grace"...and..."im saved by the shed blood of Jesus"...that is awesomely true! However...it seems that many folks think that when they get saved that God dont really have a problem with them sinning because "we have a sin nature"..."our flesh is weak"..."i just cant help it". Its almost like some people think that because of "Grace" and the "Blood"...they have a license to sin...i can sin and just ask God to forgive me...sin and ask forgiveness..and do it again and again and again...and all is well...Really?...is that how it works? When we are "saved"..."born-again"...the Holy Spirit comes to live in us...yes...the very spirit of God lives in us. Hes our helper. One of the many awesome promises of God is this..... "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."...(1 Corinthians 10:13)...do we understand what that verse is telling us? Everything we do...say...think...at the very moment before we do it...we know if it is right or wrong...and...we make a decision in that moment to go ahead and do it or not. Remember the little visual of the devil sitting on one shoulder and Jesus sitting on the other shoulder saying do it...dont do it? Well...out here in real life that really is true. According to the scripture i just quoted...Jesus can win that back and forth every time in our life if we will let Him....because...the Holy Spirit lives in us...so..whats our excuse? Now hear me folks...we are all going to sin from time to time...thats a given...but how often and how complacent have we become to those sins?
